This ass-clown used to be in charge of tracking down Usama bin-Laden. He failed, and 3,000 Americans got killed as a result. I don’t know how he sleeps at night, but the fact that he’s a total idiot probably helps. I get it. He hates Islam, hates Muslims, and thinks the only way for us to be safe is to prop up Arab tyrants who hate Islam and Muslims, too. It never occurs to him that al-Qaeda wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for the fact that the Saudi Royal Family and Hosni Mubarak have been deeply unpopular and firmly entrenched in power because of our subsidies and military/intelligence assistance. With buffoons like this running things in our intelligence agencies, it’s no wonder people hate our guts and want to kill us; and it’s no wonder that they have some periodic success.

It’s almost amusing to watch the oldliners twist themselves in knots trying to mold the Middle East rising into a good old fashioned be very afraid America Beckster jive.
Today’s stories, written by the people on the streets of the Middle East themselves, show a side of the Middle East that people like Scheuer have worked hard to silence and may have nearly succeeded at.
Scheuer hates himself for his failures. And his failures are only exceeded by his quickness to blame those he failed, on every side.
I bet a lot of people hate him.
The Repubs are going to do the Hate Muslims Fest.
They are really out of sync with this country.
twisting himself in knots indeed! also known as gibberish. democracy is bad, be very afraid. it’s the hegemonic view of usa’s role in international affairs and “thinkers” taking that as their starting point are unable to comprehend what’s happening.
I couldn’t take Scheuer seriously. Even if he didn’t run around saying crazy shit all the time, the guy’s never been anything more than a desk jockey.
Robert Baer, who was an actual spook instead of some goofy asshole standing around scanning Google Maps, is infinitely more enlightening.
…adding: And it’s precisely because he’s never been anything other than a desk jockey that he was such a spectacular failure.
The White House did a good job to get out in front on King’s show trial with an AP piece.
hey where have I seen those eyebrows before?

Off topic but I found this headline in the NYTimes amusing: “Sheen surrounded by coterie of enablers.” It goes on to say that “Hollywood” stars are insulated from their actions.
Hmmm, I wonder where else this happens? Maybe the Times will need an unnamed source in the state department to help it out.
