Gerson went to Wheaton College, explains a lot. A liberal, social conservatist if that’s possible. He was considered the conscience of the Bush adminstration. I don’t particularly care for the guys he hangs out with. He could easily be the speechwriter for Sarah Palin.

"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."Yeah, that’s the great thing about the political Jesus. He is malleable enough to be everything to everybody. From the person who opens up a soup kitchen to feed the homeless to the one who wants those who can’t afford insurance to just die. Jesus is put out there as a champion of it all, in spite of the obvious contradictions and leaps of logic that it takes to perform such miraculous mental gymnastics.
