Happy birthday s to the ask family- hope he return trip to Geneva is smooth.

Hi Andi F – thanks for the gorgeous picture.  I hope you’re enjoying the morning light.  I’m using mine to get an early start on my day and hopefully an early end to my office day as a result.  ðŸ™‚

Wishing everyone else a good week as well! I miss having time to visit the cafe…that Finny is a time taker. ..

I am happy DST is gone. I wish it would stay gone (or better yet that Indiana would switch to the Central Time Zone).

Second Nature on November 7, 2011 at 8:50 am

A happy good riddance to DST. Not only are the mornings brighter, but the clock in my car is displaying the correct time again, and will until March.

Indianadem on November 7, 2011 at 10:16 am

There are way too damn many clocks to change at our house. At least the computers change themselves. A pox upon DST!

CabinGirl on November 7, 2011 at 11:15 am

Awesome.  Why change the clock when it will fix itself in a few months anyway?

        • AndiF
AndiF on November 7, 2011 at 11:44 am

I can’t go w/o adjusting the car clocks — with my geezer memory I forget that’s it’s an hour off and think I’m late every time I get in the car.

I love the ability to get up earlier without even trying.  I just need to make it home earlier to get my family time in.

Bebo greets everything with great exuberance.

She’s almost as good as the guy who came out here last week to take pictures for the assessor — now there’s a guy who loves his work … or least loves hanging around and chatting.

I’m sure reffing is harder than showing up at a house with barking hounds. You can’t buy off an irate coach or parent with a dog biscuit.

          • AndiF
AndiF on November 8, 2011 at 6:34 am

It did look like a pretty nice job — I wouldn’t mind driving around the county, stopping every now and then to take pictures of houses. 🙂

Indianadem on November 8, 2011 at 9:37 am

It would be except for the cold, rainy days, vicious dogs and the occasional even more vicious libertarian lecture on the evils of government and property taxes. Still, as Jim remarked, reffing is probably much tougher;-)

Good morning!  Finny was up at 5:30 this morning, raring to go, so I’m getting an early start today….

I guess it’s a good thing because CBtY has a doctor appointment this afternoon. On the bright side, today is a wfh day, and it seems to a great deal warmer than the weekend was.

    • AndiF
AndiF on November 8, 2011 at 6:47 am

My internal clock is still on DST so I’m getting up even early than usual. I’m hoping for my own personal “fall back” adjustment to happen soon.

The temps have been balmy here too — several days in the 60s and even 71 today! Then it drops to 57 Wednesday and 47 Thursday (with a low of 30).

Its a bit less chilly now, but still, I don’t think I’d like dinner on the deck over at the beer garden by our place right now. They have someone singing out there tonight. I suppose after enough brews they won’t notice the cold so much.

          • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on November 11, 2011 at 9:45 pm

It’s definitely a nip to the air here – and I’m not ready for it yet! I can’t seem to get warm.

I knit BooMan a new hat, and CBtY already tried to misappropriate it.

          • Indianadem
Indianadem on November 11, 2011 at 10:02 pm

Well, that says something for your knitting and design abilities. Our kids would never have worn anything like that that “wasn’t cool”. I still miss my wood stove that we had to leave behind when we moved from our renovated 1800s barn to town 22 years ago. OTOH, its nice to wake up to a toasty warm house instead of a frigid one.

          • AndiF
AndiF on November 12, 2011 at 6:52 am

You just needed a better stove — our Vermont Castings has been keeping our house quite warm and toasty day and night for almost three decades.

But looks like the cold snap was just that and we’re going right back to the unseasonable 60s (bad luck for the deer).

          • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on November 12, 2011 at 7:33 am

I can’t take any credit for the design, I used a pattern.  But I think the amazing fall color of the yarn might have something to do with it’s appeal.  I need to post a knitapalooza diary….and get some more awesome yarn for a second hat for someone.

Vermont castings stoves are the way to go, btw.

    Rest of Today
Occasional snow. New snow accumulation up to 1 inch.
Total snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Highs in the mid 30s. Windy. Northwest winds around 25 mph with gusts to around 40 mph. Chance of snow 80 percent.
