I guess the women who have already accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment and boorish, assault-like behavior have finished thinking twice and have decided to hold a joint press conference. The least loyal campaign manager in history thinks this is good news bad news for John McCain Herman Cain.
“My sense is that his candidacy is going to evaporate,” said Ed Rollins, a longtime Republican strategist who until recently served as campaign manager for Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.). “At the end of the day, what people are going to say is he can’t win” against President Obama in the general election.
Can you feel the Newtmentum?
No.
Somebody has to win South Carolina (and it won’t be our mormon friend), but once they start letting Newt speak at length on tv again, his campaign will be dead by Thanksgiving.
I cannot believe Mrs. Cain will let that victims interview take place. If it does, she must be one of those christian women who exist only to honor and obey the husband.
Newt will never have the money it takes to run an effective campaign….so there will be a short lived newtmentum.
When will there be Man-on-Dog -mentum? I want to see the 48 hour burst of Santorum and see him flame out faster than Newt.
A 48 hour frothy burst?
I dunno. I went to work yesterday laughing at Cain and Perry, but their supporters are undeterred. One said to me privately, “It’s just like Clarence Thomas all over again.” I nodded and agreed, then he said things that indicated that he really meant that Thomas and Cain are both innocent!
As for Perry, the standard excuse is, “Anyone can freeze up under pressure.” To which I say,”Not when your finger’s on the nuclear button!”
I’m waiting for the supporters to look around at the news and notice the trajedy at Penn, or to watch the swath of anti bullying stories on the news and take note that a Presidential candidate will be representing both genders so to demean women in a classic bullying style is something a Limbaugh or Colter in their role as failing pubah might be forgiven for but not a Presidential candidate.
Sigh. I know it’s too much to ask. Just wondering where there mothers have been all their lives.
Why doesn’t Huckabee entered the race? He’s not Romney, he ran last time and so has already been vetted, and it seems to me he has a better chance of winning the nomination than any other of the not-Romney candidates.
The whole Republican party is a mess.If it continues I will jump sides.
