We’re not speaking of disenfranchising voters … the tabulation of votes were shifted! Did you read Booman’s linked story? After Election 2004 Markos black-balled all the Ohio lost election conspiracists.
Ohio lawsuit revealing mechanisms of stolen 2004 election
A new filing in the King Lincoln Bronzeville Neighborhood Association v. Blackwell case includes a copy of the Ohio Secretary of State election production system configuration that was in use in Ohio’s 2004 presidential election when there was a sudden and unexpected shift in votes for George W. Bush.
The filing also includes the revealing deposition of the late Michael Connell. Connell served as the IT guru for the Bush family and Karl Rove. Connell ran the private IT firm GovTech Solutions that created the controversial system that transferred Ohio’s vote count late on election night 2004 to a partisan Republican server site in Chattanooga, Tennessee owned by SmarTech. That is when the vote shift happened, not predicted by the exit polls, that led to Bush’s unexpected victory. Connell died a month and a half after giving this deposition in a suspicious small plane crash.

Additionally, the filing contains the contract signed between then-Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell and Connell’s company, GovTech Solutions. Also included that [in] contract [is] a graphic architectural map of the Secretary of State’s election night server layout system.
Cliff Arnebeck, lead attorney in the King Lincoln case, exchanged emails with IT security expert Stephen Spoonamore. Arnebeck asked Spoonamore whether or not SmarTech had the capability to “input data” and thus alter the results of Ohio’s 2004 election. Spoonamore responded: “Yes. They would have had data input capacities. The system might have been set up to log which source generated the data but probably did not.”
Spoonamore explained that “they [SmarTech] have full access and could change things when and if they want.”
I am totally convinced that the Daily Kos is a permaGov-controlled site. Totally. Whether Little King Kos himself is aware and/or complicit in this control is a moot point as far as I am concerned. The ongoing content (or lack thereof) and the many, many otherwise almost totally unexplainable bannings tell the tale.
Bet on it.
Gilroy, both of us could probably agree that Kos is an asshole who uses banning to slant content one way or another, but to suggest that he had something to do with suppressing news about this Ohio mess is something else again. Kos is just not that powerful. This was really an issue that should have been taken up by mainstream media sources like the NYT or Washpo.
Power lies in the hands of its wielder, shergald. Certainly the fringe leftiness brigade is not as important a target as are say NY Times readers or network news consumers, but the permaGov is quite a thorough co-opter. It leaves very few stones unturned in its quest for an artificially-produced consensus. Remember…1% can turn a national election.
I have no doubt whatsoever..based on some timelines that I researched about which bot-like Daily Kos posters were posting what oppositions to out-of-the-acceptable-leftiness-consensus-box views (including my own) that there were…and probably still are, although I no longer much care what happens there…a number of people posting under the same handle(s) in a concerted effort to keep things on the Kossian straight and narrow on that site.
Were they big-time operators?
No.
They were small potatoes, as is Kos himself. But seeing as how we are now only a day past Thanksgiving, it should not be hard for us to remember that small potatoes are almost invariably an important accompaniment to a turkeyfest.
Bet on it.

In getting banned twice from big, bad orange. I did! [thanks hamletta] Once got reinstated by Armando. It lasted just a few weeks. Since then I’m permanently banned.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
Oui, you’re so bad!
