What do you do with a business partner who doesn’t just fail to keep his word, but who is completely incapable of keeping his word?
I’d answer the question but I’m holed up in the Cleveland airport and I need to start moseying toward my gate.
I have a hint, though: it’s not possible to sever all business ties.
Republicans aren’t the Democrats’ business partners. They’re more like ex-wives with whom they share custody of the kids after an acrimonious divorce.
Motto of Tea Party Republicans in the House:
Ask not what the Tea Party can do for you, ask what you can do for the Tea Party’s funders!
Time to call on the Consequences R Us team. I hear Rush is lookin for advertisers and certainly the DNC can heed the call with a few ads of consequence to fill the gap.
I love this idea.
Hey, company-that-sells-ad-time-during-Rush-shows, I hear you’re having a little trouble filling up that air space. Well, I’ve got some great news: the DNC, Planner Parenthood, the ACLU, and the Sierra Club are willing to buy some. At a discount, but beggars can’t be choosers.
I believe you can soon call that person the “Minority Leader.”
“What do you do with a business partner who doesn’t just fail to keep his word, but who is completely incapable of keeping his word?”
I know it’s not possible, but I’d strongly consider giving them what they want, kind of like Begala suggested in 2011. Cut off the red states from any federal funding, and re-invest the savings in the blue states. No social security, no medicare or medicaid, no federal funding for schools, close their military bases, end their agricultural subsidies, no highway funds, NOTHING.
And not just for a couple of days. Once it’s policy, they gotta live with it for at least a full fiscal year. the whole time, you run anonymous ads pointing out WHY this is happening.
