Anyone else out there feeling deluged with requests for political contributions?

I don’t know seems like the end of the quarter stuff I always get. It could be more, I mostly just delete them though.
The DSCC thought that 5:30am would be a GREAT time to call me, asking for a donation. I don’t feel at all sorry for the unlucky volunteer who failed to check my time zone on their call sheet. I hope his ears are still ringing from the rant I sent his way.
Jesus. That’s pathetic.
Almost as bad as random 2-year older Twitterers…
ok, we need to see that!
my line is always free for those interruptions of sleep. dscc goons? not so much
Since I started commenting on american political sites it certainly has started filling up my inbox alright. Sad thing is, I cant contribute to them. Its illegal. Stop sending me jumk mail dammit.
Don’t know. Goes to my spam email account. And they haven’t called.
Nobody asks me, because they know what I’ll tell them.
Sure am. My Yahoo account is now campaign central.
I got nine emails asking for donations today. NINE!
I have at least eleven since lunch.
Have you been getting a lot of email from the DCCC lately? Someone most of sold the DCCC their list, because I’ve gotten like 7 in the last 2 days from the D Trip-C. And I never got any from them before this week.
The only way this bothers me is when they’re wasting their own time with telephone calls.
I’m already in the Dem corner via candidates and organizations I support, and with some new ones I’ve chosen this year like WI Dems. So I just ask to be taken off call lists. Email I can delete.
Many times you can’t be taken off call lists, because your info might be coming from voter reg info. When I worked on the campaign in California (where I live), we used votebuilder.com which allowed us to view data on voters or on volunteers looking people up either by their voter id or their name. There was more than one phone bank I staffed where I was called by one of the other phone bankers near me!
It seems to be working for me. The OFA calls every 1-3 weeks seem to have stopped. I’m also not hearing from DCCC or DSCC anymore.
I get e-mails, many, every day. I also get calls. I am already giving a monthly donation to Obama and work on his campaign here in VA. I don’t appreciate getting emails that say I haven’t contributed since 2010. This is the earliest I’ve ever worked on campaigns (Kaine in VA too).
I phone banked last night with a list of cold calls to women. Many were in very red districts and the call was a survey, mainly about healthcare or AFA. I was lucky if I got past my id of a volunteer for Obama’s re-election campaign. What was striking but expected is how people in general have no idea about the healthcare bill. “I like Anthem, and I want to keep it.” OR “I don’t have health problems or pre-existing condition, so. . . . “
The campaign info was pretty comprehensive: If you’re talking to women between the ages of 50-65, here are benefits to discuss, etc.
Honestly, the Citizens United thing has totally destroyed politics and political fundraising. I could give more money than in the past. But if I give a certain amount, David Kooky just has to wiggle his left pinky and he dumps more money on some superpac than I make in a year. But who do the Dems have that can do that? Much fewer than the Repukes.
The decision is a huge thumb on the scale.
Yup. National, and local.
That and contribution requests from environmental groups.
I’ve been making donation calls…sorry. We hate to do it as much as you hate to get them. I just put a little photo of the Koch brothers next to my call list to remind me why we have to do this.
