I guess the Secret Service isn’t too busy stiffing Colombian prostitutes to investigate Ted Nugent. The aging rock star earned the attention by saying that he’ll be dead or in jail this time next year if Obama is reelected. That presumably means he intends to make an assassination attempt. As John Aravosis points out, Ted Nugent has endorsed Mitt Romney, which excited his son Tagg greatly.
Here’s a tip: don’t celebrate endorsements from people who make death threats against the president.
.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
Is the old rumor true that “TurnEmUp Ted” shit himself and convinced the Draft Board that he wasn’t fit for military service back in the day? I find it more than likely to be real.
He hasn’t got the balls to actually hurt anyone but unsuspecting wildlife. Why his endorsement would be anything more than a huge embarrassment is beyond me.
As the story goes, Mitt was the one who called Ted to ask him for the endorsement. Add clueless to his creds.
My understanding is that is was the “Uniformed Secret Service” folks that were allegedly involved with some ladies of the night.
And not Non-uniformed types you see around POTUS with ear pieces in.
There is a diff and it is important as far as the safety of POTUS.
But, as far as a juicy scandal goes, no diff at all.
Hey, but Hillary Rosen said something rude about Ann Romney, so you know, both sides do it!
Here’s another tip: don’t form your political opinions based on the endorsement of someone who became a household name because of his prowess with power chords.
That goes for liberal musicians, too (of which there are far more). I mean, they tend to be more thoughtful than imbeciles like Nugent, but their opinions still carry no more expertise than a random person you’d ask on the street.
I’d like to see an example set, and Nugent would do rather nicely. G’da used to tell me to always allow enough rope to hang. This violent rhetoric, these overt incitations to violence and covert calls for assassination are against the law, regardless the political affiliation. This fucker needs to answer to a judge for his behavior. If I engaged in violent rhetoric, overt incitations to violence and covert calls for assassination I would be, and I’m a bit of a celebrity around here – well thought of writer and radio host, went to high school with the Sheriff and Chief of Police, dated a couple of cops and one of the judges, and served in the National Guard under another.
Nugent is no more “special” than any of the rest of us, and needs to answer to the law for his behavior as any one of the rest of would were it our behavior.
This really concerns me. Some backward-assed, bigoted, religious extremist with a gun is hearing a “higher power” say it’s ok to assassinate the President. I hope the Secret Service is spending every moment and ounce of energy looking out for these freaks who, by the way, seem to have a happy home in the Republican Party.
