We all know how dangerous 80 year-old people with mental issues can be, especially a demented 80 year-old naked woman menacing police officers with her walking stick:
Police in Dorchester County, S.C., used a Taser on a nude 80-year-old woman after she allegedly attempted to attack police with her walking stick. […]
According to police, the woman, who spoke “confusingly,” began to swing her cane at the officers when police tried to take it away from the nude woman. As police continued to talk the woman out of swinging her cane at them, another officer used his Taser on the woman’s back. The woman was immediately transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Yeah, great tactics! Sneak up on this “clear and present danger” to the safety of three police officers and taser her in the back! Brilliant! Thank god they didn’t have to call in the SWAT team. Now sure, she could have died from cardiac arrest …
The new study by the American Heart Association’s (AHA) journal, Circulation, has linked the use of tasers to cardiac arrest for the very first time. Zipes said that tasers or electronic control devices (ECDs), can create a cardiac electrical capture, (ability of the electrical impulse to initiate a cardiac response), that may provoke cardiac arrest from ventricular tachycardia (VT) or ventricular fibrillation (VF), abnormal heart rhythms.

… or suffered permanent injuries when she fell, but isn’t it better tase confused elderly people with walking canes than be sorry later. Hey, at least they were cops. Under the stand your ground laws in South Carolina a normal citizen (i.e., her landlord) could have shot her and claimed self-defense.
So thank you three brave officers of Dorchester County. I’m sure you prevented a much worse outcome for all concerned.
Meanwhile Taser Intrernational reports booming sales of its newest model, the X2 stun gun:
The company said it would see more revenue following an announcement Monday it had received orders for 2,500 for its two-shot X2 stun guns along with a smaller order for its older X26 stun gun.
The company has been pushing the new stun gun, which is similar in shape and weight to its older model, and police appear to be ready to adopt the device. The company also is offering credits of $365 for each older model gun traded in on newer models through June 30, a move that has been increasing deployments.
Hey, now police can deliver to your body a double shot of crippling electricity should you fail to obey a police order in a timely manner, regardless of your age, medical condition or ability to actually cause imminent harm. That’s what police departments all over the country call “Progress” in serving the public interest. And it doesn’t hurt the share price of Taser International, either. A win-win if I ever heard of one.
And really are they that dangerous? Take a look.
Why if you have friends around to ease you to the ground and you are a healthy white male in good physical condition, what’s the big deal?
Do these officers even have an ounce of common sense? An 80 year-old confused woman? Maybe she had Alzheimers or something. Good grief!!
Pathetic.
Now, why didn’t they tase the naked guy who was tearing the face off his victim; that I could understand. Instead they shot him to death. Granted, the circumstances were bizarre, but I think our law enforcement people need some more education on appropriate response methods in unusual circumstances.
Face eaters are inherently more dangerous than 80 year old confused baked women. Admittedly not by much.
When tasers were first introduced, their manufacturers and their law enforcement customers swore that they were to be used as less-lethal alternatives to gunfire. They weren’t there to replace arm locks or even night sticks; they were there to replace firearms in situations in which the police would otherwise shoot people, possibly fatally.
The face-eating situation is exactly the type of circumstance envisioned when these things were first rolled out: a situation in which the police would have been authorized to use deadly force, but had the opportunity to avoid killing someone.
It’s amazing how their mission has crept, which abandoning the original purpose entirely.
I’m pretty sure you know why that is.
I’m pretty sure your answer to this question is the same one you give to every question.
Lemme guess: because of the oligarchy, right?
