   Decided to give into the big brown begging eyes of Satchmo and go down to the river. It’s 96 here.

   Along the way I picked up a local lad hitchin his way home (no hat no water 4 miles in mountain desert to home)

   So the lad tells me, wow, this weekend we had a bbq and I only had 4 beers and some tequila then decided to go for a hike n play my favorite tunes, ya know?

   Mmm I say, grass a little high up by your place? Well yeah, and then wow I stepped right on the biggest rattler you ever seen! I jumped straight up in the air and hit the ground running.

   Mmm, learn anything? Well yeah, stop before you get to the tequilla.

   Alex Pareene’s thing about the Brett Kimberlin whatever-it-is. The article itself was quite good, but it confirmed that the whole tsuris is even stupider than I previously thought it was.

   The 31st attempt in the House by Pubs and a few so-called DEMs to repeal the ACA was pretty stupid. Their tenacity in the face of futility — even if they’re mostly crackpots — is somewhat more admirable than the DC DEM pols that never ever even tried for eight years to undo the damage Bush/Cheney had done.
