Welcome to Friday Foto Flogging, a place to share your photos and photography news. We were inspired by the folks at European Tribune who post a regular Friday Photoblog series to try the same on this side of the virtual Atlantic. We also thought foto folks would enjoy seeing some other websites so each week we’ll introduce a different photo website.

Previous Friday Foto Flogs
Good morning
So this theme is all about Zenn Diagrams, eh!
Whatever
Well Zen, here are my submissions.
I figured I might as well set these up last night before bed rather than post sporadically during the day on Friday, since I`m doing an unexpected job.
Although it`s just minutes away & I have the opportunity to come home at least a few times during the day, I`d rather not have to spend that time posting images, but instead, use that time to enjoy yours.
And on an OT piece of good news, I have successfully trapped the fish in my reef that was eating some of my corals, which allows me to now add a whole new batch of corals to my “Reef in Progress”.

Thanks for the blenny!
Lots of wonderful photos to amaze over — right now (because I’m sure it’s subject to change) my favorite is Prayer Circle.
That’s a wonderful group of photos, Knucklehead!
Wonderful set of images, Head. Love that first photo especially.
they should learn how to read the love letters sent by the wind and rain …
A flower falls, even though we love it; and a weed grows, even though we do not love it.
“In the assemblies of the enlightened ones there have been many cases of mastering the Way bringing forth the heart of plants and trees;
this is what awakening the mind for enlightenment is like.
The fifth patriarch of Zen was once a pine-planting wayfarer; Rinzai worked on planting cedars and pines on Mount Obaku.
Working with plants, trees, fences and walls, if they practice sincerely they will attain enlightenment.”
– Dogen Zenji, Japanese Zen Buddhist Grand Master
My favorite is the love letter written in the many different “font” sizes on the multidimensional planes of the leaf.
Nifty set (and commentary). I especially love the top photo.
Beautiful. Love that top photo Bob. Love the softness of the green background — soothing.

That put a big smile on my face. Thanks.

NDD,
Fantastic capture on the Funnel Cloud shots.
Were you just sitting around waiting for the funnel to possibly happen & used that time to fiddle with the clothes pins, or is that a North Dakota thing.
Tnx KH,
Hah, I guess it must be sort of a ND thing!
My hired hand (19 yr old helping dredge up iron out of the tall grass for the itinerant scrap crusher) and I were headed to a local resort for fried chicken. Good thing I had my little 3200 Coolpix with me.
I’ve seen funnels before, but never this white, so I doubt it touched ground.
This Foto Flogging look like very simply and best. I really like it and i hope you like it.

Wow! Those are some kind of scary. Amazing capture.
Tnx AndiF
Yeah, I was pretty lucky to stumble on that… (from a distance that is.)
[I’ll be off-line to late Sat night most likely, due to Ms NDD class reunion BBQ, some 3 hrs driving one way.]
Woah! Amazing set of images NDD!
AndiF,
I particularly like The There of Not There, as it sure does take the eye a while to figure out what’s there and not there!
And thanks for using my theme suggestion, I wouldn’t have known where to present my chothespin garden otherwise;)
It’s a great theme so I was more than happy to use it.
And thanks for the compliment on the photo — the nice thing was I didn’t even have to go for a walk to take it. I took the shot right by our house.
Trapped fish
The trap I use for fish is almost identical as one used for bears.
A large cylinder with a sliding trap door.
I appealed to this fish`s sense of gluttony to trap it.
The only difference between the fish & bear trap is that with the fish trap, I have to trigger the door to close by releasing the fishing line that holds the door open. Even after I trapped this fish, he still insisted on eating all the bait.
Before I “got” him, other fish were in & out, which I`m sure built up his confidence since he`d been quite skittish when I was around.
He knew I was after him. Here it is inside the Doom Room.
I enjoyed all the photos you’ve submitted!
Glad you’ll now be able to forge ahead with the Reef in Progress.
Bear Trap for fish, hah, adds new meaning to “Catch and Release.”
Olivia,
Ripples is just great! Is it sky?, is it water?, or the universe with Milky Way running through the central force field?
Thanks NDD. It’s even better for me – the taker – because I was out in the canoe at the time, a very zen-like place for me.
Echoing Andi in complimenting your theme choice. 🙂

Great set/take on the theme ID!
Great set. And how very zen of you to have some actual denizens of zen in your set. 🙂
I had a John, Paul, George and Ringo flashback as I ran for the camera.
I’ve missed several Friday Foto Floggings recently, and I am quite late for this one but, hey, it’ “the zen of it all”

Beautiful. Nice to see your post Sven.
OOOHhhhmmm
Thank you AndiF & Olivia.
