Watch Paul Ryan hide under Mitt Romney’s skirt:
Jon Delano: “Should abortions be available to women who are raped?”
Paul Ryan: “Well, look, I’m proud of my pro-life record. And I stand by my pro-life record in Congress. It’s something I’m proud of. But Mitt Romney is the top of the ticket and Mitt Romney will be president and he will set the policy of the Romney administration.”
Translation: “No, I don’t believe rape victims should be able to get abortions, and I’m proud of my position on that, but my running mate said the opposite yesterday so I refuse to answer your question.”
Rep. Ryan also backed away from his prior support for a law that would deny women a rape exception if the rape wasn’t “forcible.” And there is the fact that both he and Romney have supported the so-called personhood amendment which makes no exceptions for rape, incest, or the health of the mother.
So, today, Romney/Ryan are saying that they won’t deny rape victims access to abortions. But their records suggest otherwise. And we know what kind of judges they will nominate.
Also, no no health exception for ban on late-term abortions.
Paul Ryan opposes abortion in every instance, including the health of the mother:
“Well, look, I’m proud of my pro-life record, and I’ll be happy to talk about it again on November 7th.”
Rapepublicans.
Akins was not crossing some damn line. He was toeing the GOP party line.
Good to hear your voice again! ** Summary in my diary GOP Campaign Mix of Rape, Climate Change and Intelligent Design
Commenting tonight on the difference between the Romney/Ryan ticket’s stance vs the Rep platform, Michael Steele had to agree that the presumptive nominee had the option of directing the party platform to conform to his ticket’s position.
That said, the push should now be for him to do so.
good one
From a NYT reader’s comments this morning regarding Mitt & abortion…
‘If a fertilized egg is a person, and a corporation is a person, can the Bain-owned corporation that profits from the disposal of aborted embryos and fetuses be prosecuted as an accessory to murder and be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole? Does that also make Mitt Romney, who shared in the profits, an accessory to murder?’
So many Republicans…so few answers.
And if, once sentenced to prison, the corporation is raped in prison, is it a legitimate rape? Or, since we all know that God would never allow horrible things like climate change or rape pregnancies to happen, does it then become an illegitimate rape?
You could go on like that forever. The fact that we even know what these fantastical terms are supposed to mean shows how utterly far down the looking glass GOP politics has gone, dragging our entire political system with it.
Let’s not forget all the corporations Bain “murdered”. Rmoney’s rap sheet is a long one.
speaking of abortion, Booman do u think there will be any adverts done about Romney profitting from Sterycycle the medical waste (including “aborted fetus) disposal place via Bain? if so where & who will the ad come from? I just don’t see Obama campaign or even Priorities USA doing one so who wold?
And then there’s the consequences. For women who choose to keep a child born of rape, they may have to grant parental rights to the rapist and/or the rapist’s legal counsel may use that prospect to help leverage the rapist’s plea down.
I wouldn’t question any woman’s choice either way. However, I would think any woman would want to get that alien seed OUT of her. But I’m a man and I’m old enough to know that women are not just men with different plumbing.
Paul Ryan is not a foot soldier in the GOP War on Women.
he’s a GENERAL.
plain and simple.
this mofo is lying through his teeth.
These are the people for whom the term ‘motherfucker’ was invented.
