Well at least it wasn’t bullets this time, not that I would find a great deal of comfort in that if I worked or volunteered at the Conifer, Colorado Obama office.
Vandals struck an Obama campaign office in Conifer overnight, spray-painting swastikas onto the side of the building. […]
A photo on 9News’s website, which first reported the vandalism, shows at least one window with swastikas painted on it. […]
This is the second high-profile incident at an Obama campaign office in a week. Last Friday, police believe somebody fired a shot at an Obama campaign field office in Denver. Denver police spokesman John White said officers recovered a bullet from inside the campaign office, but he said he did not have any update on the investigation.
I suppose that conservatives will say this is just another harmless joke us dumb liberals just don’t get because we are all so snooty and elitist. Yeah, right, how hilarious. On a more serious note, maybe, Obama’s campaign should start investing in surveillance cameras or at least saying that they will do so. Before someone’s little prank goes too far and we end up with a dead or injured person whose only crime was their support for the President.
Swastika = Tea Party was here
Stars&Bars = Swastika = Nobama sticker
Look, every population has a minority of them. In 1930s Germany they called themselves the Nazis. Today in the US they call themselves the tea party. They are the same people.
Stupid morons voting to give their social security pensions and medicare insurance to the extremely rich … because they hate black people.
As heated as I am about this election, I wouldn’t go so far as to conflate Tea Party-type Republicans with the type of bottom feeders who sneak around spray painting swastikas on buildings.
Have you ever talked with them? One on One?
I am not a fan of bumper stickers, but I would never put an Obama sticker on my car. Not that I’m ashamed to show my support, but because people are completely unhinged now, and there are no boundaries to keep them from running me off the road, flipping me off, keying my doors. If that makes me a coward, so be it.
I do have an Obama sign in my front yard and no one has vandalized it, so maybe it will all be okay.
My friend’s car has been keyed twice because of her Obama sticker. She had a “Cheney-Voldemort” sticker on her car in 2004 when we were in high school, and no one bothered. the Obama ’08 sticker? Keyed…twice.
I worried about this too, but then I figured “OK, I’ve got insurance.”
These scratch repair pens (as seen on TV) really do work, too. I can testify to that. Some asshole scratched my car and the thing filled it in and it buffed out perfect. Follow the directions to the letter though.
Not many people are. I haven’t seen anyone is in our lot with one and no Romney or Romney/Ryan stickers. One Joe Walsh sticker though.
Here in Ky (Dem in the central part;Repub in the rest) Romney and Obama yard signs and bumper stickers are in short supply, compared to ’04 when the state was lousy with Palin posters. Everyone is keeping a low profile, whether from lack of enthusiasm on the right or fear of vandalism on the left, I don’t know.
I wonder if this isn’t a sign of panic. For years these folks have told themselves that Obama was somehow a fluke, elected by guilt or curiosity or whatever. Or they blamed in a way McCain for being a guy way past his prime. In any case, he would be defeated by the first really adequate white guy who came along. The change Obama promised would be short-term, and things would get back to normal. But Ronald Reagan reborn never showed up, Mitt Romney did, and Mitt is losing.
But it looks like Obama will be reelected and the bigots are panicking. They know that painting swastikas on a building or firing a bullet through an office isn’t really going to stop anything this late in the game. But this is their way of lashing out at change.
I live with these people. It’s always the liberals’ fault. Always. So they start with that answer to any question and work backwards.
Their first reaction to all of these kinds of events is that they’re false flag operations designed to discredit the Tea Party. I suppose if they happen to catch a Tea Party person red handed, they’ll claim that of course Obama is the REAL Nazi. It’s then a protest against Nazi tactics of the Obama campaign, NOT an endorsement of Nazi tactics or beliefs.
