Welcome to Friday Foto Flogging, a place to share your photos and photography news. We were inspired by the folks at European Tribune who post a regular Friday Photoblog series to try the same on this side of the virtual Atlantic. We also thought foto folks would enjoy seeing some other websites so each week we’ll introduce a different photo website.
This Month’s Theme: Black and white, but not limited to colour as suggested by BobX.
Link of the Month: 40 World’s Most beautiful Buildings Architecture Photography.

Next Theme: (Friday, December 14, 2012): Chaos — a spin-off from North DakotaDem’s idea of Entropy which everyone is also welcome to do.

Previous Friday Foto Flogs
Blue Moon w/a hint of yellow (August 31)
Nice effect. And the focus is perfect. 😉
Thanks. I did probably 20+ shots that night, most did not come out well. Here’s another that worked:
I like this a bit better — the vertical aspect and the centering of the moon and reflection pull your into it.
Beautiful view — love the blue colour.
Andi, great photos. Love the twin trees and the frost leaf at first glance looked elephant skin to me.
Olivia, not a fan of jellyfish but the shots are awesome, especially love the last two.
I don’t have any black and white photos whatsoever. Instead here are a few with a very limited color palate (click image for larger version):
Tel Aviv:

Rome:

Tønsberg, Norway:

Mannheim, Germany:

New York:

Berlin:

Metz, France:

Great images. I enjoy the graphic quality.
Thanks, Sven.
The owl shot is gorgeous and my favorite. But it was closely followed by the lines and light in the Rom photo and the very clever framing on the Guggenheim pic.
Thanks Sven!
Love the framing in your abstract photos — especially the angle in the last one.
This is a crop of the image in mind when when I thought of the theme.
The uncropped version is here. It’s a totally different feel but because of size restraint would not be viewable in full.

Lot’s to catch up on as the election took lots of my time. Great stuff in the cafe’. Glad everyone made it through Frankenstorm relativity unscathed.
Wonderful shot and composition!
Great capture, Bob.
I’ve been thing about this photo for a couple of days.
The clothes, the exterior, are absolutes- blacks and whites.
The kids and people are every shade in-between.
Works as a metaphor for me.
Aw, that’s a great photo Bob. Love how it flows — so many people in the image and it’s not a cluttered feeling — if that makes sense. 🙂
Great photo, the combination of people oblivious and people staring into the lens makes this great!

hudson river rower @ pier 46
Great set Jim. I love aspen glow — that is beautiful — and that golden colour in hudson river is wonderful.
Love the aspen glow!
Damn,
You`ll never be able to read the comment I just had devoured by my insouciance.
I should take more care even though I`m half asleep.
My project is taking a lot of my time though not my enthusiasm.
I can`t compete with neither Andif nor Olivia`s B&W presentations, & Sven`s are exceptional.
I`m still on my project that`s been taking much of my very valued time, but I ultimately know where my loyalties lie. (My project is self-sustaining)
My love of photography is not.
Mess of Lines

I Smell a Rat

It`s Really Purple
50 Shades of Grey
Two By Two
Great stuff (but the blenny deserves a better title — how about “Sometimes a Grey Notion”?)
“It’s really purple is my favorite — terrific combination of shadows and edges.
AndiF,
I have to switch back to color for a few shots of what my project looks like. These are “work in progress” shots.
The kitchen.

I`ve installed the stove (under the Microwave ) since these were taken.
I must warn that in the family room, I`m presently setting up a large marine aquarium. In other words, a future photography zone, so you may be bombarded with images of marine species as I introduce them.
That’s a beautiful kitchen but I’m way more excited about the prospect of being “bombarded with images” from the aquarium.
Love the textures in “It’s Really Purple.”
Hey Head. 🙂
Love, love, love Two by Two. 😀
I’m with Andi — bombard away when you get the time. 🙂
Thank you Olivia,
It should be titled “One by Two” since it`s a reflection of one fish.
If you remember, I was keeping it for some friends who went to Argentina for a month.
I shot the picture in colour the last day it was in my care.
I hope all is well with you.
I`ve been a rarity as of late since I started this new project.
I just ordered the new tank I`m installing in the family room.
I`m excited about what I`m going to do with it.
All options are on the table.
Speaking of tables, I`m building the dining room table starting in a few days.
It`s a large square Alder table over 6′ per side with 4 big fat turned
farmhouse legs.
Photos forthcoming.
It’s really purple is really my favorite here. Great work!
End of Bonfire Season

Diehard Pansy Nov 5, 2012

Now that’s tenacity. Go, go, go little flower. 😀
Did the snow stick around?
I am impressed by that flower. It’s best rocks! It beats snow! 🙂
Also … brrrrr.
Love the chairs in the snow. Perfect!
Rock paper flower.
Great images NDD
Give my fondest regards to Ms. NDD.
& Happi.
Great shots all around! I’m trying to fix a leaky shower so I’ll get back to this later, I’ve got some comments to make.
Hope it’s an easy fix.
We spent last week re-tiling and grouting a section we thought was the leak, it wasn’t. Tore off all the caulk and think we found it, find out today, not much else can leak.
Fingers crossed you got it!
Got it! You wouldn’t think such a small hole could leak so much water.
Everyone let their Ansel out this week!
Andi – Twin Tulip Poplar
Olivia – Can’t pick just one, this I was not expecting.
ask – Portrait shot, moon, the blue color fade to black.
Sven – Guggenheim, One of the better shots I’ve seen of it. Metz
Jim – Fireworks!
‘Head – Mess of Lines
NDD – Diehard Pansy
We should do a B&W theme more often.
Thanks, Bob!
Thanks Bob!
I was really excited to see how everyone would interpret your theme idea. I’d love to see the theme more often too — maybe every time we use random we can add B&W or something like that.
I’ll try to find some old film scans – b&w stuff to post in the cafe’. Random B&W is a good idea.
Thanks Bob,
Always fun to try new themes, think I’ll try focusing on a bit more on B&Ws.
B&W can get you thinking.
Wow, an A Adams comparison — thanks Bob.
Great trees.
Thank you everyone for helping to make FFF a success.
I barely have time these days to enjoy all my hobbies, but I try to keep my foot in the warm waters of the photog pool.
And a special thanks to my good friend AndiF who never fails to remind me of the Friday Foto Flog & to my special friend Olivia who helped me so much in my early days of posting online.
Here`s an old B&W of the dynamite team of TNT
Tony & Teri
I`m sure she appreciates all of you also, for keeping me out of trouble.
I’m thanking myself for reminding you to post in FFF so we all get to see you great photos.
And that is a charming photo.
