The Senate Democrats have posted their committee assignments. Members who are new or newly assigned to a committee appear in italics. Naturally, everyone will race to see what assignments were given to Elizabeth Warren, but we have a group of progressives entering the Senate. And we also have some fairly centrist newcomers, too. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Patty Murray takes over budget and Maria Cantwell takes over Indian Affairs. Stabenow and Boxer and Feinstein and Landrieu were already chairs.
Also, cool to have our soldiers return from war to discover a socialist chairing the Vet’s Affairs Committee. Go Bernie!!
Warren also gets the committee with jurisdiction over Social Security and Medicare.
Ron Wyden taking over the Energy Committee is cool, too.
Needs a progressive voice on the Intelligence Committee.
Heinrich is a pretty good progressive.
