From Meet the Press:
DAVID GREGORY:
But there’s no ironclad evidence that lowering marginal tax rates is going to lead to economic growth.
SPEAKER JOHN BOEHNER:
Oh yes there is. There’s mountains.
Actually, Fluffy tried to reason with Boehner today. This exchange encapsulates the grade level of the responses he received from the Tan Man.
“Oh yes there is. There’s mountains.”
What’s that? Second Grade?
Fantasyland
Not second grade. Church.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. Hebrews 11:1
My problem with religion is most of it is taught as if the listeners were five years old. There’s a depth of spiritual teachings that are never touched because the leaders and teachers don’t know them.
I suspect their “teachings” are focused more in the realm of control than actual spiritual enlightenment.
I suspect you’re correct.
Belief in things unseen is such a strong part of the GOP culture that I expect Tertullian of Carthage to replace Reince Priebus as the next chair of the RNC.
They’d burn that fool if he showed up.
They are a party only of talking points and no substance. Everytime I hear Boehner say “we have a spending problem” I want to explode. No we have a revenue problem because of tax cheating by the rich and their corporations. Even more urgent we have an employment problem causing us to loose even more tax revenue. Creating more unemployed is not going to help anything. I guess you have to be sober part of one day to understand.
Creating more unemployed will help something. It will allow them to hire servants at a cheaper rate.
This is an indication of how lame Gregory is as an interviewer. An interviewer who was even minimally prepared would ask questions that demanded more of a response than “nuh-uh.”
Molehills Mountains, what’s the diff eh?
Since the Boehner Party is now hell bent to call this Obama’s sequester that will run America into the dirt wouldn’t it be timely to point out that the R’s 2 Bills with alternatives as well as the Ryan plan imposed even more calamity on America?
And yes, Mr. Gregory, when Boehner says there are mountains, it’s appropriate to ask him to cite just one example.
Try getting any right-winger to say what the tax rate should be. Their only answer is “lower.”
OT, bu wow, if this is true and can be replicated, then it is a GAME CHANGER in the fight against HIV/AIDS right?

fluffy & the tan man…I was think of a joke but nothing comes to mind.
First there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is.
Second grade? More than adequate for serious public affairs TV.
Maybe what he’s getting at is that a Laffer curve looks sorta like a mountain if you squint at it the right way. Of course, that’s leaving aside the fact that it’s only in Republicanland that a Laffer curve is evidence of anything.
