John McCain called Rand Paul a ‘wacko bird,’ which caused Rand Paul to say that McCain is “on the wrong side of history” which caused a McCain aide to say this:
“Senator McCain is obviously well aware of the politics of this — he just doesn’t care. He’s doing what he thinks is right. Unlike many of these guys, he’s actually been involved in a few national security debates over the years. He knows that jumping on the Rand Paul black helicopters crazy train isn’t good for our party or our country, no matter what Twitter says.”
And so I quote the great Ozzy Osbourne:
I’ve listened to preachers
I’ve listened to fools
I’ve watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the roleMental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train
Of course, John McCain is a different kind of crazy. He’s crazy for blood…like a vampire.
This popcorn tastes good.
Popcorn futures are way up.

Wow, they managed to find a token black woman from amongst the .008% of the black female population that supports the Teatards.
Yup, I reacted to that as well.

13% of black men voted for ROMNEY??? I can only conclude that 1 or 2% were rich and 11-12% were either:
a. drunk
b. stoned
c. voted by mistake
d. were voting on Diebold machines
or they were Lynn Swann.
Counts as rich.
Still vote for the Party of Lincoln out of habit. Haven’t noticed the changes.
Just gets better and better.
Now the advance guard of the Republican party is coming with the long knives for the 2008 presidential nominee. That was (and he is) “so yesterday.” Meanwhile, the old crank crackpot of the Republican party is calling out as crazy those who are taking insanity to new heights of . . . well . . . insanity.
That’s just the thing, McCain is as crazy and stupid as Rand Paul. If Rand’s comments help further the GOP circular firing squad, I’m all for it. I just don’t take Cranky McSame seriously in anything he says. After all, McCain was one of those idiots that voted for W.’s Iraq misadventure.
Well, he’s at least making himself relevant again. Taking down Paul, Rubio, Ryan or any of the other clowns makes him worth listening to — at least for the moment. Hope he gets invited on a talk show or two this Sunday. Go John Go!
Hope he gets invited on a talk show or two this Sunday. Go John Go!
He’s on almost every Sunday, no matter what. People on the Twitter machine refer to the NBC Sunday morning bobblehead show as “Meet John McCain” considering how often he’s on.
What does this infighting mean for the budget and sequester fixes that need to happen within the next two weeks?
Booman, I had gotten the sense you expect that the sequester is here to stay, at least until some negative economic impacts make the GOP change their mind. Is that right? What about the budget?
Well, McCain needs to build a coalition in the House that will cut a deal with the president. The president needs him to do it. The Tea Party folks need to be cleaved off before that can happen, so McCain is happy to accentuate their divisions in the Senate.
But, yeah, the sequester is here until a rump in the House revolts. It could be blue staters or it could be Defense hawks, or it could be a combination of the two.
So that presents a few options:
a) they extend the sequester as is in a (6 month?) continuing resolution and pass that in a week or two.
b) they pass nothing at all and leave town, forcing a government shutdown on top of the sequester.
c) they decrease the sequester by moving around the cuts, adding revenue, etc. and pass a continuing resolution.
Which of those seems most likely to you this month? (Or some other option?)
And wouldn’t it be ironic if Paul & Cruz are able to tip the scales on McCain’s hatred of Obama so that he forgoes his current legacy of Obama vengence and puts his lone ranger hat back on to lead the party back to sanity? Whew now wouldn’t that be buying popcorn for?
Two thoughts:
Well .. the Jebster is supposed to be making the rounds on all the Sunday bobblehead shows this weekend.
I’ll say it again…sigh.
McCain?
PermaGov.
Obama?
Also PermaGov.
When push comes to shove…from the left or the right…the PermaGov guys stick together against the potential game-changers. After all…it’s their game, right? Or at the very least the game of their various owners/controllers.
Riiiiiight…

Arthur, it must be very sad inside that cynical paradigm in which you live. Thank heavens I don’t live there. To me, Obama is lightyears different than ol’ grumpy.
That’s because Obama IS light years different than McGrumpy. And AG is wrong. Being frustrated and disappointed that the Democratic Party is not holding the left flank as firmly as we’d like does not make them the same as this current, highly dangerous and extreme Republican Party.
Is there anyone in the Democratic Party who is proposing a budget anything like the Ryan budget? You know, the budget for which which nearly 100% of Congressional Republicans voted Yes and nearly 100% of Congressional Democrats voted No?
So AG can keep on trotting out his evidence and insults. It doesn’t make it so.
I repeat…the fix is in. These RatPub proposals? Like the futile punches and other moves of designated WWW losers.
But when someone decides to step out of the fix?
All of the fixees…winners and losers both…immediately band together to brand them as stupid, crazy, sure losers and/or a combination of those things.
All of them.
Paul Hackett had it right.
Business as usual. Hackett most certainly would’ve rocked the fix boat had be been elected to the Senate, and they got rid of him.
Business as usual.
Parallax calls my worldview a cynical paradigm and you refer negatively to my presentation of evidence and supposed “insults.” Stubborn refusal to see what is happening in this country should be pointed out, and I will damned well continue doing so. Is it insulting to suggest that people wake the fuck up? I guess it is to those who insist on remaining asleep.
So it goes.
And…wake the fuck up.
You been had.
AG
Hackett? Gotta go back to an invalid bitchfest from 2006, huh? Yeah, that Sherrod Brown sure has been a real sellout to the progressive movement.
What the hell?
You watch too much media.

The satire keeps writing itself. McCain and wacko bird (surprise he didn’t slip and say Angry Bird). “Wrong side of history” from a Paul. And then “black helicopters” from a McCain aide.
And not to be outdone, Brennan takes his oath of office with his hand on a draft of the Constitution, which of course does not contain the Bill of Rights.
Kinda nice that neither Obama nor Carney wanted to steal the show. You know, by a personal call to Jane Fonda reassuring her that the President realizes that (1) the war is not with North Vietnam and (2) he is not Richard Nixon.
Is this Randquester or McCaingate?
Planet of the Rats!
Not interrupting his enemies whilst they tear themselves apart…
