Is anyone keeping a comprehensive record of recent Republican references to “worse than” Watergate, Iran-Contra, impeachment, “arrested,” and other key phrases to BOLO?

I know, I know, you all hate Eric Holder, but who among us hasn’t wanted to tell Darrell Issa this:
Holder To Issa: Your Conduct Is `Unacceptable’ And `Shameful’ (VIDEO)
Do yourselves a favor though, don’t read the comment section. The article was linked by Drudge and the trolls have taken root. There more than one O’Bammy being thrown around and not to be outdone, at least one “Holder is a nigger” comment to really make it racist.
According to Congressional rules, witnesses are at the mercy of the chair. It’s how Joe McCarthy rose to power.
Holder’s push-back, while welcome is pretty weak tea as a retort.
I suppose we should celebrate the fact that he pushed back at all.
And if Drudge is anyway connected with it, some post-blogging fumigation is in order.
“I know, I know, you all hate Eric Holder”
I am not in that category!
The AP was not given the opportunity to voluntarily turn over its records. Nor I guess, were most of the folks targeted. The boss gets this courtesy.
I don’t know, that would be a full time job for at least one person. You’d probably need a whole staff, and a pretty hefty IT budget to boot.
Are not these the same who, to quote Lynard Skynard, say, “Watergate does not bother me.”
Can you set some mechanism up, BooMan, so that a dollar gets deposited in each of our bank accounts when a Republican references any phrase aimed at making sure that Obama doesn’t serve out his second term?
I’m sure that we might have to pay taxes on it by the time January 2017 rolls around.
So the POTUS statement was scheduled televised just in time right before the start of ALL the evening news programs and the local evening news to follow the national evening news programs.
So the news will report that POTUS “fired” the IRS Commish, but then they won’t be able to help themselves and will of course make a “bare minimun” argument about the resignation (this is exactly what Michael Steele tweeted BTW) and therefore will mention that even though the IRS acting director resigned, the real culprit was a Bush appointee who had left right after the election.
So in trying to score their usual points against POTUS, IMHO, all the public will hear is that POTUS said IRS thing is “inexcusable”, IRS Director resigned and the original Director under which the “targetting” occurred was a Bush appointee.
Of course, let’s just forget for a moment that this also means that essentially no one is running the IRS, and as I said above, GOP talking point is already “scapegoat”, “bare minimum”, etc.
All of this is a bunch of nothingburger, and yet all of this has managed to consume all the oxygen in the room. It’s really unbelievable that, after you look at all the facts of any of this bullshit that has the press slobbering, there’s hardly anything to them.
God, this is depressing. This Congress is probably going to be even less productive than the last one. Fuck the Republican Party, each and every last one of them. Bunch of asshole pricks who just want to juice the latest and greatest whiff of anything that smells off into a ‘scandal’. I’ve committed greater scandals after a long night of drinking.
I don’t know how any thinking person, in their right mind, can care about this shit. But the press does, because by golly, it makes their job easy to just bullshit their way through their day job without actually having to do REAL work. And even Jon Stewart is getting fooled.
Fuck them all. Each and every last one of them – the GOP, the media – all of them. They should be ashamed of how they are conducting themselves.
Wonder how many of them know what Watergate and Iran-Contra were? Like the 39% that believe that Benghazi is worse than Watergate but haven’t a clue that it’s located in Libya, expect a high percentage of those GOP mouth-breathers would fail.
So now the IRS lacks a leader because the acting director got canned today by the President.
Does that mean that there is yet another appointee that the GOP can hold up in the Senate?
Paging Senator Reid. Paging Senator Reid. Please answer the red filibuster reform phone.
well people wanted “heads to roll” who’s head did they expect.
maybe Obama should have hired the bush guy back just to go and fire him again.
The “underlings” can’t be fired, isn’t there some big no-no about firing civil employees?
So again, who’s else head was gonna roll exactly?
Maybe the action was too much driven by the White House communications operation? In too much of a hurry to toss the baggage to quiet the ravening Village. When it’s likely to have the opposite effect–stimulate the desire for more sacrificial sackings.
