Me. I’ve been in a three-week panic about my son’s camp this week. It’s his third camp this summer, but it’s a basketball camp, and he sucks at basketball. I’ve had this sick twist in my stomach constantly. He’s gonna hate it. What’m I gonna do when he comes home crying? Make him finish the camp, to learn tenacity? Remove him from a horrible situation?
He had a fine time. All that anxiety for nothing.

Weiner is back in the news for more sexting, after he resigned from congress. While I don’t care, I’d say that was pretty damn stupid.
I don’t think his small beer sex scandals disqualify him from being Mayor of NYC. If it turns out he’s enough of an idiot to get caught doing the same dumb thing the same dumb way, though….

I’m listening to Senator Mike Lee right now on Hannity’s radio show. He’s bragging on the 15 Senators he’s got for a Bill which would defund Obamacare and fund everything else; he thinks this will cause Reid and the Dem caucus to cave during the next debt limit negotiations.
Hannity said to the Senator, “We need to focus on the economy and jobs. You know what would be the best thing to improve the economy?”
Lee fumbled for Sean’s answer.
“It’s not a trick question,” Hannity said.
The Senator filled the air with words for a few seconds.
“Energy,” Sean concluded triumphantly, cueing Lee to go off for a minute about the importance of selling government land to oil companies.
The need for a Senator to obsequiously take orders from an insane racist- that’s pretty stupid.

Larry Summers openly running to succeed Ben Bernanke at the Fed.
Ray Kelly openly running on a stop-and-frisk platform to be appointed Secretary of Homeland Security.
Summers has a media guy and everything. And no doubt Kelly is using the NYPD PR flack.
My neighbors.
A parent speeding through a school parking lot / driveway full of kids, including her own, while talking on the phone. The stupid part was the disdain in which she held me when I confronted her.
Stupid is bad, but some stupid people realize they’re being stupid at least. Aggressive stupidity is even worse. Not only are they stupid, they have a right to be stupid! Oy. I blame Texas.

I am visiting portland, or this week, and drove through a neighborhood of modest newly built single family homes. each home has a very small fenced backyard.
In one of the backyards, I kid you not, was a rusting old car and a pile of junk.
Yep, less than a year old, some industrious Oregonian has managed to turn a brand new professionally landscaped miniscule backyard into the neighborhood junkheap.
Pity the neighbors…
