If you pal around with sleazebags, eventually, some of the sleaze will get stuck to you. But 2016 is a long distance from 1998. Most people who were born in 1998 will be eligible to vote in the 2016 presidential election, and they aren’t going to know or care much about all that drama that went down back then. The very idea of Hillary Clinton holding a fundraiser for Terry McAuliffe is enough to turn my stomach and make me start muttering “No controlling legal authority.” But, I’m jaded.

The folks to be upset with are the VA Democrats who nominated this guy. He’s leading the race barely and could be the guv in 2016.

Well, at least if he’s guv then Virginia wont screw up 2016 with electoral shenanigans. As for the rest, well, glad I don’t live in VA. You’d think they would have a pretty robust Dem party there with a deep bench, but apparently not.

Think of it as Clinton trying to seal the deal for the 2016 VA DEM primary. VA 2008 wasn’t kind to her.
But this is why we’re still afflicted with McAuliffe as a candidate: people like Hillary Clinton owe him favors. Apparently he also knows a lot about finding large amounts of cash attached to prominent Democrats who don’t know much about what sort of person should run for office.
