It sounds like the target is Assad himself, along with his brother and the general.
Maybe someone should tell Kerry that targeting a head of state is also banned under international treaties.
Also it sounds like he doesn’t care whether Congress authorizes it or not so that the whole Congressional debate is a charade. Imperial Presidency, indeed. “L’Etat c’est moi!” I’m really glad that Bush beat this jerk and I never thought I’d say that.
.
I watched the press conference with William Hague after London meeting. Nothing new came forward. Kerry’s reply to a question was later clarified by the State Department: “… should not be taken literally.” Still moving forward on the path
to warjust a targeted bombing campaign over 72 hour period. No, we’re not entering into a war like Iraq and Afghanistan. No, we aren’t expecting a retaliation from the other side. Ok I freely aadmit to not fully paying attention during bush years, young and stupid I guess, but did I miss the interviews with Saadam Hussein before either Desert Storm conflicts?
Are am I just wrong in being aggravated by this:
“@CBSNews: Watch Syria’s Assad compare Obama to George W. Bush, Sec. Kerry to Colin Powell – http://t.co/qVCPD652CK“
So the choice for American people is to listen to thid President, or Assad. So Assad gets to start his “charm” offensive and Obama will have to follow with his.
Assad On Using Chemical Weapons As Response To U.S. Intervention: `It Could Happen’
Dan Rather interview with Saddam Hussein, February 24, 2003.
Thank you. As I said I admittedly wws not paying attention.
But there you have it. Then I guess its no big deal then.
My bad. Carry on with the regularly scheduled programming.
John Kerry is the Colin Powell of 2013.
