After 13 days of the government shutdown, Ann Althouse had seen enough pummeling of Republicans and declared that she would no longer write about it. Now that the government is reopened, she says that she is too afraid to look at the post-mortems.
Anything to maintain yourself in the bubble, right?
Who is Ann Althouse? It’s not clear from either blog post you linked to.
Thank you.
Good question. Or, more accurately.
Benghazi!
I didn’t know who she was either. Maybe this will help the uninitiated.

this is her husband:

I agree that anyone flogging Benghazi is a shit. But I can’t say I learned very much from a blog thread which consisted almost entirely of people calling her a shit and an asshole.
Right-wing anti-Islamic veteran blogger (was around since early 2000s). Was pretty big in the right blogosphere in the Iraq War heyday. Notable for the level of vitriol of her insults toward lefties.
You get a stronger bubble from a box of Franzia and a refusal to read the news than you get from a box of Franzia alone, I guess.
Shouldn’t she go over to Nooners’s for a drink?
Except Peggy.
These wimpy-assed pundits who love to rile folks up don’t like to come out on the losing end. It’s so easy to wave one’s hands and declare that it was all simply a misunderstanding. heaven forbid they own their words and suffer the consequences of always being WRONG.
And then there are the pundits who can be completely wrong and then move on without skipping a beat. Those are the real professionals, I guess. <blerg>
Poor dear. I suggest a long vacation. I hear Antarctica is nice this time of year.
Just Ann and her box(es) of wine this week, eh? Oh well, I’m sure that The Awful Woman will be back to spew her hateful, fact-free bologna by Monday.
Unless she’s in rehab, for which we would all be thankful. I would be rooting for her recovery. Her blog posts make her life sound pretty unpleasant.
This is of a piece with her behavior on election night. Althouse was live-blogging the returns last November, and fairly early in the evening it became apparent that things were not going as she has expected. But instead of discussing the bad news, she just stopped posting. A few hours later, after the election had been called for Obama, she told her readers that she had rediscovered her early distaste for politics.
Someone else for the party at Nooners’s:
Karl Rove: Republicans Walked Into Obama’s Trap
I guess part of the eleventy-dimension chess was Obama hiring Sarah Palin to bring her Confederate army to DC.
Absence of Presidential leadership, Karl? Mmmmm, that must be some strong stuff you snitched from Rush’s humidor.
“Damn that Obama for forcing the Teahadis to shut down the government by, um… hypocrisy!”
Obama is so fiendishly clever, he tricked Jim DeMint, Gary North and the very cream of the tea party into planning the shutdown and default.
Obama must belong to the Illuminati, the Freemasons, the Knights Templar, and every other society that secretly controls the world.
I’m afraid that’s the only possible explanation, RT.
