I can’t say that I am surprised that a grand jury has been convened in Newark, New Jersey to look into who was responsible for closing lanes on the George Washington Bridge. I think you can bank on the fact that this grand jury will not be clearing Gov. Chris Christie of wrongdoing for a year or more, assuming they don’t indict him. That certainly puts a pall over any possible presidential campaign. Who wants to dedicate their life to a guy who might get indicted before the Iowa Caucuses even get started? How much money would you be willing to commit to someone under this kind of cloud?
Remember John Edwards? Well, imagine that we knew about that ahead of time. Or, imagine that everyone strongly suspected it and a prosecutor was looking into it.
Assuming Christie can find a Scooter Libby to take the fall for him, he’s still damaged goods, even if he’s still going through the motions of running for president.
Oh well…on to the next centrist faker.
Gotta admit…he’s got the look.
Not too old, not too young
Not too fat, not too thin.
Not too northern, not too southern.
Plus…he’s got a Mexican wife and speaks passable Spanish.
And…his centrist bloodlines are impeccable. Unless of course you take a look at his grandfather, Hitler’s banker.
Or his great-grandfather, who made his money in the opium trade.
But…who’s gonna do that?
The PermaGov-owned-and-operated government media complex?
Please…
What’s that you say?
The electorate will remember the sins of his brother?
And ’round and ’round and ’round it turns.
Where it stops, nobody knows.
‘Cept the guys controlling the (
s)electoral roulette wheel, of course.Bet on it.

Yeah, but if HRC runs against ol’ Jebikins, I’m pretty sure HRC annihilates Jebikins.
So, would Jeb be a tomato can, or would HRC be encouraged to sit out for a Democrat tomato can?
Democrats in 2000 could be accused of having a failure of imagination as they cheered when GWB beat the “formidable” McCain for the nomination. HRC will not annihilate Jeb and I wouldn’t put any money on Jeb losing.
Annihilate may be too strong. 47% of the country are dead-enders who hate the other 53% or so of the country. So, I think HRC walks away with 300+ EV, if not more. All things being equal.
That said, I don’t see 2016 being any less of a clown-car extravaganza, especially with HRC running. She has so much baggage that a lot of the 2012 clowns will see her as easy to beat, and their comments are going to be misogynistic as fuck. Bet on that.
My comment to AG has more to do with his political philosophy. While I understand the Permagov thing and think there is something to it, I still believe that our Masters haven’t quite gamed the system enough to totally control who runs and wins. Yet.
If AG believes the Permagov has 100% control and that one candidate gets to win and the other is just a tomato can, I’m interested to see which one is the tomato can.

You write:
I got three things to say to you, and they ain’t “Happy Birthday, bro’.”
1-Ross Perot
2-Howard Dean
3-Ron Paul
The “masters” have gamed the system well enough to flat-out guarantee that no one who has not totally signed onto their agendas will be allowed to win a major party nomination.
Bet on it.
Control of the mass media is control of the minds of a sufficient number of Americans to make that idea a reality. If you are not familiar with the history of the successful efforts to turn mass media into CIA assets, please do a net search for <“Operation Mockingbird”>. Just for starters.
And one more thing.
If you think that Bush II’s presidential “victories” were not gamed…especially then first one in 2000…I got a nice bridge to sell you in downtown NYC.
You also write:
If both candidates are equally acceptable to the controllers, do you think that they really care a great deal about who wins?
I don’t.
Once the nominations are in place, then the media does an “image” scan. The best-looking one wins, as long as he or she doesn’t completely step in a big hole during the campaign. And if that happens, then the uglier one wins.
“Yawn” say the controllers.
“So what?”
Does it really matter that much who’s the host on late night talk shows? If one just totally sucks, why…4 years or so later they hire another. The hustle scam continues no matter what.
Solution?
Sure?
Don’t watch the talk shows.
Duh.
(Well…maybe just little bit out of the corner of your eye. Just to make sure nothing sneaks up on you when you aren’t paying attention.)
Yup.
Bet on it.

Or…maybe some people know some things that we do not know. Like the truth about HRC’s health and/or intentions.

P.S. They have a ready-made DemRat tomato can waiting and ready in the wings.
Joe “The Gaffemeister” Biden.
I mean…really.
Can you think of another potential Dem candidate (other than HRC, of course) with sufficient national name-recognition branding to be propped up in the preznidential Go-Get-‘Em ring?
Pelosi and Reid are too smart to fall into that trap. Cuomo’s just too ugly. The others? Too…unknown. And it’s too late to build them up into known unknowns, if y’know what I mean. (Donald Rumsfeld does. For sure.)
Bet on it.
Drewniak as the first witness may not mean that they’re looking at Christie. Recall, Wildstein reached out to and met with Drewniak and not Christie and that was well after the bridge access lane closings.
Even if Christie is never directly connected to bridgegage, it remains hard to believe that his deputy chief of staff authorized shutting down 2 of the 3 local access lanes to the world’s busiest bridge without, at the very least, his knowledge. Damaged goods indeed.
I’d say the odds that Wildstein goes down without spilling what he knows are close to zero. Expect it to evolve more like Watergate than Plamegate. Scooter only had to take a rubber bullet for Bush/Cheney. Kelly won’t fare anywhere close to as well as Scooter.
Isn’t there also still a grand jury nosing around Scott Walker from his days as Milwaukee County Exec?
Given the overall love affair Wingnuttisan seems to have with martyr narratives, I’m not entirely convinced that a grand jury is a kiss of death – though it might be for the Wall Street types who would be most likely to push Christie or Jeb Bush. But if, say, Santorum or Cruz or Rand Paul were the object of a grand jury probe, there’s a fair chance they set it up themselves to as to whip up their followers. The Stoopid is going to be industrial strength in 2016.
Big Chicken’s ability to govern NJ alone is hugely damaged by Bridgegate. I think he’ll be lucky to complete his term, much less run for Prez. Al least I hope so.
Poetic justice if Crispie Creme gets indicted, along with Samson and the other crooks he runs with. The thought of a former NJ US Attorney, well known for punitive prosecutions of his own, e.g. Newark Mayor Sharpe James, facing the same fate is just too delicious not to dream about.
Check this article out, Ex-Newark Mayor Sharpe James sentenced to 27 months to see just what a vindictive and vicious schmuck Christie was in the James sentencing. Among the choicer passages:
“You throw out a person’s entire life history because of a crime they commit when they are 69? Is that what I’m supposed to do?” [Federal District Court Judge] Martini said, later adding, “Even prosecutors have a responsibility to look for justice.”
As the judge’s skepticism became clearer, prosecutors began girding themselves for a sentence well below what they had sought [ten years]. At one point, Christie, sitting in the front row with state Attorney General Anne Milgram, whose office assisted on the case, shook his head in apparent disgust as the judge spoke.
For the record, Judge Martini was a Republican when appointed to the bench.
He couldn’t win the primary to be re-elected as mayor of DC. Slate.
Having a grand jury, or US attorney, looking at your conduct in office is bad news. One would think that all the brainiacs running for or sitting in office would know that and would at least try to be clean and trustworthy, but apparently not…
Christie may survive as governor, but he’s been a long shot for president for lots of reasons (that we all know).
Cheers,
Scott.
Rick Perry also has grand jury problems.
Special prosecutor in Perry case says he’s “very concerned” about governor’s actions.
Jeb Bush may wind up being the only viable non-indicted candidate for the Republican nomination for President possible.
