My colleague Andrew Geller at Scrapple TV made this video:
He became personally involved with the issue when it turned out his girlfriend’s parents owned a farm in the heart of PA’s gas fields. PA is the only state that doesn’t charge any tax on shale gas extraction. It’s a scandal, and one of the many reasons Tom Corbett has to go. You might say he gets the gasface:
Obscene profits, no oversight, destroying our environment, (You can actually set your water faucet on fire from the natural gass escaping in some areas of Penn.), but what do I care?… gasoline has dropped below $3.00 a gallon. Time to go out a buy a new muscle car!! Zoom Zoom!!
I just got a robocall from Tom Wolf. He talked about cuts in education and PA being 50th in job creation. Told me when the polls are open and said he be honored to have my support.
That would put me WAY off. Why not a cheap postcard or e-mail? If you HAVE to invade my privacy at home, at least use a live earnest volunteer. To ring my phone, making me stop what I’m doing to listen to a recording which is essentially a 30 second ad is the height of hutzpah (sic?). I’d be inclined to vote against him for doing it. Like Brad Schneider and his FINAL NOTICE! e-mail (see my diary). I got a FINAL NOTICE! letter from Mutual of Omaha in the mail Thursday. I threw it in the trash unopened (I have no policies with Mutual of Omaha and am unlikely to ever have one based on these deceptive practices.).
I was just glad he’s on top of his game. And I was interested to hear what they thought I needed to hear.
And the water! How can you even think about fracking in California when drought conditions range from extreme to catastrophic across the state?
