It’s too bad that former Rep. Ron Paul thinks that the only reason that members of the Congressional Black Caucus are opposed to fighting reckless foreign wars is because they want food stamps, but that’s what he thinks. And that’s probably why thinks Martin Luther King Jr. opposed the Vietnam War. It was all about food stamps.

Now that is interesting considering that the TP/GOP members for the most part are the party of numerous deferments. I wonder how that equation fits in Ron Paul’s figures or is that another one covered under the TP/GOP is above the laws of the land.
No racism there….
It’s OK to learn about his racism now, just as it will be OK to learn about Rand’s racism… a few years after his career is over.
Ron Paul obviously hates grain farmers.
Last year’s cut in food stamps has caused demand, and thus prices to sag. Tenants of corporate farms are trying to get out of rental contracts as a result.
Self-inflicted wounds all over.
Ron went on just one word too long. It’s not about food stamps, it’s about food.
“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.”–Dwight Eisenhower
Even if that stupidity was correct, wouldn’t it be better to feed folks than lay siege to yet another 3rd world country?
So what’s wrong with that, number one? Number two, Ron Paul was photographed with his black supporters. He can’t be racist.
The latest PPP poll isn’t looking good for baby Paul’s WH chances. He’s stuck at 4%. Maybe he should have become a neurosurgeon like Dr. Ben who with zero political experience and zero public policy expertise is polling at 18%.
Meanwhile the Koch, Inc spokesman has pulled away from the second and third tier packs.
I’m sure he’ll write a delightful newsletter article on the subject.
Can we also point out that Barbara Lee, of the CBC, was the only person to vote against Afghanistan, a war which Ron Paul voted to authorize?
Barbara Lee, literally and rhetorically, speaks for me.
It’s just projection in any case. Paul is “against fighting reckless foreign wars” because cutting food stamps doesn’t take enough money off his friends’ tax bills. He’d oppose spending it on positive things as well. He wants all the welfare money for the diligent, thrifty, morally sound millionaires.
And, lo and behold, Arthur Gilroy is nowhere to be found here.
If AG brings us that one Ron Paul quote again in which he decries racism, then it’ll be all good, right?
Give him time, man. He has to go through his extensive collection of gigantic unflattering Obama photos and decide which one(s) to post along with the chicken.
