is he running off to get his application to one of your recommended schools?
I know polls are meaningless thus far out but Quinnipiac shows HRC losing Florida to Rubio, JEB! and… Trump.
Republican leaning poll
Neat looking space!
Really the cabin is beautiful.
If that’s “the cabin,” it’s way nicer and more exotic than I had imagined. My first thought was modern adaptation of an old church into a coffee shop. But the link seems to indicate it’s a residence.
I think that HRC is in big trouble, but I have never been a big fan, despite the fact that HRC went to the high school that my dad taught at for 1 year.
The email issue is like Whitewater. It is what you make of it. Right now, she is not handling the issue well. While some dismiss the issue, it is a real issue because it demonstrates that she can’t think beyond the 24 hour horizon.
Her trustworthyness ratings have tanked in the last 4 months. She needs to come clean. There are at least 300 emails which are problematic. Who knows who had access? And what their security clearances are/were?
Shoes are out there, and they will drop when they have the maximum effect.
It’s an unforced stupidity.
I agree about the seriousness and how she’s handling it. where are you hearing about the 300 emails?
Funny that those questions were never asked about the emails the Bush White House stored on the RNC servers. That story lasted about a week.
We have a political double standard about candidates in this country. And it’s been that way since Whitewater.
It was a large enough GWB WH scandal that it led to House investigation and shortly after releasing an interim report Karl Rove resigned. So, not getting where this was a story that only lasted a week.
Of course the DEM House would have had to go to war with the RNC to take it any further than they did because that’s where the server was located. They were likely skittish about doing that.
Clinton set up her personal server in 2009. Two years after the Bush WH was busted for using the RNC server. How is it a double standard to investigate her outside server when the Bush WH was also investigated? Those that did this before 2007 could claim “oops, we didn’t know this wasn’t acceptable.” But after 2007? GMAFB.
WRT Whitewater, recall that it was the Justice Dept that opened an investigation in 1994 and Bill Clinton requested that Reno appoint a special prosecutor. The DEM House and Senate then opened investigations. Losing both the House and Senate that fall meant that those investigations wouldn’t end anytime soon.
Whitewater was merely a small piece of what led to the bankruptcy of Madison Guaranty S&L that ended up costing taxpayers $60 million — chump change compared to the $1.3 billion cost of Silverado S&L that Neil Bush played a major role in. But it was the Clinton administration and not me that didn’t pursue that or the BCCI and Iran-Contra crooks.
Did they ever get anything from RNC servers. I thought there were no backups yada yada nothing to see here. Republicans can lie its the one thing they do very well. Two things the second thing is they also protect their own. Petraeus goes in front of congress over Benghazi, screwing and leaking information to his lover then basically was given more hugs and kisses. Clinton hasn’t heard the end of that insanity and since there was a CIA station down the street why do I think there is more to the story and its not about Hillary.
If anything was retrieved from the RNC servers, it wasn’t much. I sort of get why Democrats wouldn’t have pushed too hard on this after making the point “don’t do it again” b/c both parties want and expect that their DC headquarters are protected spaces. A fallout from Watergate.
Why would Republicans go after Petraeus? He’s one of their own. Better question is why did Obama and Democrats allow him to skate?
Republicans wrt Benghazi are hamstrung b/c they can’t risk exposing whatever was going on at the CIA station any more than Democrats can. Not that they recognized that “no go zone” when they initiated their outrage and have since been stuck trying to make something out of the State Dept compound. They’ll keep up the “Benghazi cry” to feed their angry rubes but it really is a nothingburger.
Doubt that she’s in “big trouble.” The only thing she could “come clean on” is why she did such a boneheaded thing in the first place; but she’s not about to disclose that and nobody is going to ask her anyway. It’s just drag on and on and only the rabid rightwingers will continue to raise it as an issue long after a majority of the electorate has decided that they don’t care.
As long as Sanders doesn’t catch her and the GOP nominates Bush, she’ll be fine.
Remember the story about the crazy ambassador to Kenya and how he did his online stuff in a bathroom because he found the government network bad? It wouldn’t surprise me if at the time the official email system at state was antiquated. Not that it’s an excuse.
I don’t see her as being in big trouble either. The press is trying to make something of nothing. That’s what they do, at least if you’re a Democrat.
Hillary’s still enormously popular within the party and beyond. Democrats have huge structural advantages at the national level. And Republicans are totally screwing the pooch, trying to keep up with their loudmouth frontrunner.
If someone comes along to take the nomination from Hillary, he or she will have to be a lot more dynamic than Sanders or O’Malley. Right now I’m not seeing it.
Ah, yes, the myth of Democratic inevitability. What a pile of rancid reeking dog shit, honestly.
In a US situation in which 5 of the “Democratic stronghold” states have Republican Govs (NJ, WI, MI, IL, IA), two swing states the same (OH, FL), you would thing that the fatuous nonsense of this notion would be obvious. But no, over and over, “Democrats can’t lose at the POTUS level.” BULLSHIT.
Each of those states except IL have majority R HoR delegations. OH has only 4/16 D HoR members – 4/16. WI has 3/8 D. IL (probably considered by many to be a slam-dunk blue state) has 10/17 (one vacancy which will go R).
So, why not stop this fatuous twaddle about “Demographic inevitability”. It is such nonsense.
One more thing about IL – it is blue due to the votes of the “collar counties” which are the suburban counties around Cook (Chicago). If these go blue, IL is blue. If these go red, you get Bruce Rauner, Governor, State of IL.
Clinton is doing ground work right now, which is what a serious campaigner would do. Once she starts doing rallies and all the other fluffy bullshit, he numbers will bounce. No need to sweat 15 months ahead of the election.
