It is said that even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Ted Cruz is right once in a while.
Like…now.

“I have a feeling,” Cruz continued, “that Trump will keep running and hiding and basking in the protection of the network media that’s trying to do everything they can to make him the nominee, because they know he’s the one candidate on the face of the planet who Hillary Clinton can beat in the general election.”
Kelly asked Cruz to explain how that conspiracy works, and he replied that the media’s “given him the equivalent of $2 billion in free media. If you turn on the TV at any given moment, it’s a wall-to-wall infomercial. When there were protests at his appearance in Chicago, it was a telethon — I kept waiting for Jerry Lewis to come out.”
“This is not an accident,” he said, “this is the suits in the suites, who are almost all liberal Democrats.”
“Donald Trump practically goes to the bathroom and it gets carried live on network television,” Cruz continued. “Every speech he gives — he does a press conference that’s like watching the shopping channel, he’s up there selling steaks and steak knives and wine. The media desperately wants him to be the nominee, and as a result, they don’t cover anything about his record.”
“The media is doing everything they can to cover up his background,” he concluded. “You’ve seen no media coverage of his reported connections to the mob. If he’s the nominee, I guarantee you, every station, they’ll cover all that — that’s how they give the election to Hillary Clinton.”

Standard PermaFix operating procedure.
The old “end around” play.
Only…I have a feeling it may backfire on them this time.
They may have stirred up too many hornets’ nests to get away without being seriously stung.

Some bipartisan insecticide, perhaps? We could certainly use some.
(Not this time around, though.. Bet on it. Trump may have already developed an immunity to any and all attacks.)
Watch.

The following happened in gentrified Brooklyn…the new “Center Of The Gentrification/PC Universe”of which HRC is of the the brightest stars. It happened to get videoed and sent to a site that would post it, but…believe me, I live in NYC…it is not an isolated incident. Not by any means.
Go to the above site and watch the confrontation.
Nasty.
It’s gonna get worse, too.
Watch.
Think this kind of thing is happening only in the so-called “flyover” zones?
Fuggedaboudit!!!
First of all…who can afford to fly anywhere these days?
And…who would want to, given the hundreds of Homeboy Security fuckups?
Not me…
I’d rather drive.
I actually think that Trump has a good chance of taking NY State in a head-head w/HRC.
Stick that in your pipe and smoke it for a while.
I dare ya.

Further on this general “How To Stop Trump!!!” matter.

Trump as Prez and DWS as Veep. The mind boggles. Time to start working on that dual Italian citizenship.
I’m not sure that the suits in the media are any longer liberal Democrats as Cruz claims. Even at PBS and NPR. The heads of Viacom, Comcast, Disney, and Fox are running their news divisions a profit centers. Trump draws viewers with his “You want to see what I’ll say next” strategy. The Republicans more than the Democrats are generating large political advertising revenues this year because of the large number of candidates and debates. Trump is not directly buying as much advertising as other candidates, but he drawing viewers which increase the rates that the media can charge for the events on which he appears. And they kickback 1.9 billion in free media to keep him going and drawing in revenue. Other candidates don’t understand the business model of media corporations; if they did, they would find a way to quickly bypass media and lower campaign costs because a lot of media is wasted.
As for content, Trump is pursuing a pure Nixonian urban ethnic/Southern strategy–the one Kevin Phillips suggested in the 1968 and the one Lee Atwater perfected but now with straight out race-baiting. Theodore Bilbo and Cotton Ed Smith couldn’t do better demagoguery than what Trump is doing. What people are watching now is for his organizing militias and taking the tactics back to the Mississippi Plan of 1875 and the Wade Hampton’s Red Shirt campaign of 1876. They are also watching to see how the white suburbanites trend. Expect a lot of “white middle class” appearing in the stop-Trump rhetoric.
The white deputies in Cumberland County (Fayetteville NC) who falsely arrest the black protester who was assaulted wound up getting demoted and having some pay suspended. There was some military town and Chamber of Commerce political pressure that caused that to happen, both suburban middle class in nature.
Tarheel writes:
PBS and NPR are now just mouthpieces for the leftiness side of the centrist fix, Tarheel.
As Emma Goldman so trenchantly observed quite a while ago, “If voting changed anything, they’d make it illegal.”
He also writes:
I am not sure that what happened in Fayetteville…as you say, a military town…will translate to general “white suburbia.”
You have to remember…where the boots meet the ground, the U.S. military is essentially run by minority members. I was recently in and out of a major military base that is closely affiliated with the Pentagon. Aside from the absolute fact that my entrance to the base was less thoroughly inspected than that of a three-year-old boarding a plane in a major airport…I was driving a car that had quite a bit of luggage in it, none of which was even opened (!!!)…the functioning army people at the various gates were all minority people. The soldier who supervised my look-see…a nice guy, relaxed without being sloppy…had a Caribbean accent so deep that I will flat-out guarantee he didn’t grow up in any portion of the U.S. Gotta keep those workers happy. Bet on it.
In non-military white America…say the whitish suburbs of LA or the vast whiteland of Long Island, NY…I think that Trump has already gained a good foothold.
Watch.
