They criticized the president for attending a baseball game after the terrorist attacks in Brussels, but look at what the Republican frontrunner was doing:
Trump has been at the center of many of the campaign’s most vitriolic moments. The real estate mogul has insulted Carly Fiorina’s looks, questioned Ben Carson’s religion, and endlessly mocked Bush, Rubio and Cruz.
His latest fight with Cruz began Tuesday night, hours after the terrorist attacks in Brussels, when Trump tweeted: “Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”
Of course, we know what happened next. Trump retweeted a picture of his wife looking beautiful alongside a picture of Cruz’s wife looking awkward.
Yeah, it’s embarrassing, but it’s also hypocritical. The president said it’s important for us not to let terrorists interrupt our daily lives and routines. For some, taking in a baseball game is a normal routine, for others it’s tweeting out insults about rivals’ wives.
speaking of wives…
OT: A model first lady, despite receiving unprecedented scorn

I recently attended a White House event that featured the cast of the Broadway hit “Hamilton.” But it was the host for the occasion who was most impressive: first lady Michelle Obama, still standing tall, chin up, despite nearly eight years of enduring the kind of crudities that the wives of some of the current presidential candidates are starting to get a taste of.
Personal insults in politics are certainly nothing new, and even first ladies have long been regarded as fair game. But racial contempt for the Obamas and the development of so many new ways to express it resulted in an unprecedented barrage of ugliness toward her.
In a speech to graduates at Tuskegee University in Alabama last year, she recalled having “a lot of sleepless nights . . . fearing how my girls would feel if they found out what some people were saying about their mom.”
But it’s not just uncivil discourse that poisons the political environment.
……………………
It’s juvenile for Donald Trump to tweet an unflattering photo of rival Ted Cruz’s wife and in poor taste for an anti-Trump super PAC to post a nude photo of Trump’s wife. But that’s nothing compared to the hateful caricaturing, disrespectful comments and threats that have been aimed at Michelle Obama.
As the first African American first lady, Obama was expected to be flawless — meaning fashionable, sophisticated, smart and worldly, and never too loud, too angry or too black.
“Eventually, I realized that if I wanted to keep my sanity and not let others define me, there was only one thing I could do, and that was to have faith in God’s plan for me,” she told the Tuskegee graduates. “I had to ignore all of the noise and be true to myself — and the rest would work itself out.”
At the end of the presidency I find myself having tremendous respect for Michelle Obama. I wish she had been less of a traditional first lady since I think she left some her talents on the table but that might have been necessary. Regardless I could see myself supporting her for future political office.
I don’t know that I’d support Michelle Obama for political office. I’d have to see.
However, I’ve long felt very badly about how she’s been mistreated by these sh*ts in the media and on the right. It’s just appallingly disgusting. Mrs. Obama does not deserve that treatment no matter whether you disagree or agree with her initiatives as First Lady.
If you disagree with her drive to get kids to eat veggies and be more active I think theres something wrong with you…
Obama attended a baseball game in Cuba that actually is wide-reaching for both diplomatic and business reasons. It was part of his duties – albeit, I’m sure it was enjoyable – as POTUS. Geez. The GOP allegedly is all about business, but of course, it simply won’t be pointed out this is what the POTUS was doing at that game. I believe that Obama brokered some deal with Raul Castro in re to baseball players from Cuba. My understanding is that the Bigs have been salivating to have them available for recruitment.
Like: duh.
Typical, though, of everything during Obama’s 7+ years in office. Everything, simply everything, he does is deliberately distorted, misconstrued and/or lied about. So tedious.
It was also on his schedule. He was supposed to cancel that in favor of doing what? Has there been a call for him to cancel the WH Easter Egg Roll due to the Lahore Easter Day bombing (at least 72 killed and injuries unreported)? That bombing was more identifiable as an attack on Christians and it barely flickered across the news in the US. If American get any dumber, we’re going to forget how to breathe.
