You need to use the ’embed’ button under the video. Just copying the location link will give you a dead link.
Directly under the video is a ‘share’ button, hit that and it give you a couple options…one being ’embed’. Tap that and a link appears..select and then copy.
The problem is that the ’embed’ button (depending on device) only appears on the desktop site, not the mobile device site. So if you are using a mobile device, you need to get to YouTube.com, the YouTube app won’t work.

Good tips. Thanks. One thing I have learned posting vids on this blog: when I place the embed link into a post and preview, I only see the blank space where the video is supposed to go. I’ve had to take it on faith that the video will appear. So far it always has. Could be a quirk of the software that makes this blog operate, or it could by my computer’s OS (I am running on an older computer that probably will need replacing soon), or since I use Chrome it could be the browser. But yeah, just past the embed link and all should be fine.
I use Safari and get the same blank space.
But it’s like doing a hot link….if in preview the link is not green, you messed up, and if you do NOT see a blank space when posting a video, but see a dead link, you messed up.
Blank means it worked.

Now that was intense. Nicely done and makes a statement. How do we find hope in a time when so much seems hopeless? What kind of world are we leaving to our children, and how is that world seen from a child’s-eye perspective? That vid will leave an impression on me for a while to come.
I’ve been relatively quiet here this week. A lot going on at the moment. Hit that point in my life where more and more of the people with whom I shared significant parts of my life have either passed away or will be soon. This last year hit me and my family very hard. Had it not been an election year, I would have avoided this place altogether. There have been times where I have questioned my decision to return. Certainly, my patience has been tested quite a bit. That’s putting it mildly. Much like I increasingly find it difficult to recognize the US, I barely recognize what has become of here. It’s different. Different isn’t always bad, but in this case different is not especially good. Así es la vida. For now I’ll push back, because there is still something worth struggling for, even if it is merely to regain a faint sense of solidarity. Still don’t be too surprised if I take some extended breaks periodically, in order to regain my energy. As an old poet turned indie journalist once put it, “La lucha sigue y sigue y sigue…”

I remember that foxhole analogy. Probably offered a statement agreeing with that. Been left with a very similar impression. I simply assume I’d be fragged at the earliest convenient opportunity. Hence the darker tone of the music cafes as of late.
