What do you want to bet that this news from Trump was the closest thing to a “true” statement that he has made in months?

Why do I think this??

Because the Serial Liar Brigade has been unanimous in denying it, that’s why.

I’ll give you good odds on that bet, but of course we will probably never know the “truth” about this story, just like we won’t know the truth about anything else in this lovely, PostFactual America.

Every serial liar in the system has been saying that it is a falsehood, including GCHQ. These people are all among the most professional liars in the world. They will deny the veracity of the truth just to keep their lying record straight, to keep the confusion meter dialed to 11. Their bet is that once all the proles give up trying to separate the truth from the lies they will be free to do any goddamned thing they want.

I think that’s a good bet, too.
