It’s right there on the front page of all Russian media to witness. As U.S. Congress meet to trigger subpoenas for former Trump campaign workers …. shameful meetings with Russians during the Obama lame-duck period. What did they say, what did they talk about, did they do any deals We the People don’t know about?
For press conference, non-Russian media were NOT invited!! President Trump makes another statement: “I’m the boss.” Deal with it or STFU.
One day after firing the man overseeing the FBI investigation into his presidential campaign’s ties to the Russian government, President Donald Trump spent Wednesday morning meeting with Russian government officials in the Oval Office.
However, no American media outlets were allowed to cover the event — and only photographers from Russia’s state-run media were allowed to snap photos, such as the one posted by the Russian embassy’s official Twitter account.
Ambassador Kislyak has been a central figure in the Trump administration’s ongoing scandal related to Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election.

I just can’t watch and listen anymore to the crap from CNN covering the bubble in Washington DC. The rest of the world community is not standing still to hear what the troubles are in political America. We’ve got a life to live and are doing quite well. Thank you!
As the Empire of Great Britain and its preferred colony the U.S. are doing some soul searching, the balance of power is shifting across the globe. States are impressing with pushing forward a green economy keeping the Paris accords as a clear goal. The Dutch coalition government is also bidding for economic adjustments to meet firm goals for ecology and the environment.
The conservative UK government is stumbling forward thinking they got the better deal in the Brexit from the EU. What a farce for the 99%. Interesting other nations are experiencing a backlash from the escapades of the new US president Trump and moving towards a liberal society. Saw some excellent documentaries on Germany, its refugee policy and how the millennials are reacting. Solidarity and a social mindset are prevalent above pure capitalism. Maybe I’m just an optimist, but I see great hope as long as the world community stays away from fearmongering from terrorism and the wars initiated after 9/11.

Trump has ‘very, very good’ meeting with Lavrov, Kislyak at White House | CNN |
President Donald Trump hosted Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak at the White House Wednesday amid the swirling investigation of Russian contacts with Trump campaign and transition officials in 2016.
The Russian Embassy tweeted a photo of Trump shaking the hand of Russia’s ambassador in what appears to be the Oval Office. Current and former US intelligence officials have accused Kislyak of being a top spy and recruiter of spies, a notion that Russian officials have dismissed.
A White House statement after the meeting omitted any mention of Kislyak’s presence, instead focusing on Trump’s conversation with Lavrov, which the President described as “very, very good.”
The Russian Embassy had sent out the photo as Trump was set to meet Lavrov on Wednesday. The meeting was the highest-level encounter between the US administration and Moscow since Trump’s inauguration.
According to the statement, Trump emphasized the need for the US and Russia to work together to end violence in Syria and Ukraine.
Slogan Trump on twitter: “Let’s Make Peace” …
It looks like they got trolled, too.
CNN:
Or…perhaps it’s a pore-plab=nned double troll. It’s the White House making believe it’s outraged in order to further distance themselves in the public eye from their contacts with the Russians.
Either way.
Spy vs. Spy and/or Troll vs. Troll
Nasty business.
Very nasty.

That’s “pre-planned” above.
Sorry…hit the wrong key.

So what?
Simpleton Trump’s notion of Presidenting is getting photos of himself meeting, greeting, and shaking hands with VIPs and foreign government VIPs (apparently Merkel excepted on the shaking hands part) and signing whatever cockamamie paper that Kushner, Bannon, and a select others shove in front of him. (Not so much different from how FLOTUS and SOS Clinton viewed her jobs; although she did read what was written on at least some of those papers.)
It’s the same simpleton MO that big cheese developer, great reality show host, and presidential candidate Trump used. All publicity is good as long as long as it comes with a photo of his mug.
If he gets ridden out on a rail…a conclusion that I would fully support? Then he’s a “simpleton.”
If he keeps winning…and every leftiness media-decried move he has made until this one has eventually turned into a “win.” I mean…he’s still in power, right? Given the level of opposition, that’s a win all by itself.)…if he keeps winning, it ain’t just luck.
He may be a simpleton front man for other forces…so simple he hasn’t realized it yet…or he may not.
It ain’t over ’til the Grey Lady and WAPO stop singing. Or at least change their tune, one way or another.
Until then…he has survived some hellish media firehosing.
Past simple luck, Marie.
Can he continue to survive?
We shall see.

Trump can be both a simpleton and not lose to the “smart people.” Almost all of those smart people have mega-blind spots (and their own greed) which is how he’s bested, or at a minimum not been taken out by them for decades.
The current problem, for the people but not TPTB, with ousting him is that it puts Pence in power.
You write:
Yes.
Why?
‘Cuz they’re simpletons too, most of them.
Bottom line simpletons.
AG
P.S. Pence?
Yes.
A pro.
And a problem.
I believe that he has already reached out to powerful people and promised that he will not mess with them, that he will be a cooperative little preznit if it comes to that.
Oui, if you seriously believe that the People’s Republic of China is doing much of anything about greenhouse-gas emissions, then you’ve drunk the Koolaid. You might also want to look a bit into China’s relentless efforts to make itself the next colonial power.
@JDW – Did I mention China?
I don’t think so!
In perception the US ranks 2nd, in performance the US ranks 30th on the index of 80 countries.
