Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Cape May, New Jersey street scene. The photo that I’m using is seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
I’ve have a fair amount of progress for this week’s cycle. On the central house, I’ve continued to add to the siding and roof in yellow and gray respectively. Note the shadowed portions of the second story bay window. I’ve also painted in the shadowed inside area of the porch. To the right, I’ve added gray to the partial house. I love the contrast of the yellow and gray.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here. (Currently under construction.)
Open it is.
Finally made the trip to see my parents. Was good to spend some time with them, and I am sure they were relieved that I could finally clear a few things out of their garage that I had intended to do somewhat earlier.
Cleaning for the New Year, as it were.
Yep. Was glad to do so. One thing I have learned over the years…there is no such thing as a brief visit. Although I and my son are both a bit pressed for time, and stated that we’d really be dropping by to clear out what I had promised to clear out, we get there and they’ve got a home cooked meal already set up. Can’t say no to that. So we had several hours of good food and conversation, and then got to the business at hand before making the drive back. I’m thankful that we don’t live any farther away than we do, but there are times when I wish we were a bit more nearby.
I am now imagining emphasizing a bit more of the shrubbery – and a path! We’ll you have the path. But the Knights Who Say Ni demand a shrubbery!
Shrubbery you will have. -Yoda
