What bento wrote. I shouldn’t have been surprised; Haldane was a very witty and quotable biologist. I wish I had half his wit and quotability.
As for Larry Niven, the closest I could find to his writing that is a false positive. From “The Asteroid Queen” in “Man-Kzin Wars III” is the sentence “the universe was not only stranger than humans imagined, but stranger than they could imagine.” Unfortunately, while this story took place in Niven’s Known Space, he was not the author. Jerry Pournelle and S.M. Sterling were.
Like the article says it’s anybody’s guess why they let this idiot on television to continue to talk nonsense. My guess is he will simply plead idiocy. How could he possibly understand. As he says there are a million pages written about this. Sounds good.
I’m amazed at the number of bridges Rudy blew up last week. If he keeps on talking, he will have nothing to go back to.

Rudy Giuliani has been “gone” since well before 9/11. I lived through his entire mayoralty in NYC. He’s a bonafide Looney Tunes character, and Trump’s greatest personnel mistake so far.

More and more convinced by the time this over Trump will have pleaded everything under the sun. He’ll plead the 5th. He’ll plead that his Executive Privilege was abused. He’ll plead insanity. He’ll plead Putin mind control. He’ll plead Obama set him up, that Hillary worked with the Russians to destroy the economy.
I’m also sure that by the time he’s done we’ll all need some kind of therapy.

Trumpworld is not that smart. They’ll believe “America’s Mayor” is, if anything, of the media and the deep state.
Giuliani is actually doing what he is supposed to be doing. He’s helping Trump pursue the optimal strategy, given the circumstances.
Trump wants (or should want) everybody to be focused on the Stormy Daniels. He wants (or should want) everybody to realize that crimes were committed in making hush payments and not reporting them. He wants (or should want) there to be enough Republicans who are disgusted (or feign to be so to assuage their constituents) with a man who cheats on his wife with porn stars and Democrats who are concerned with the blatant criminality of it all to get a Bill of Impeachment through the House. Trump should want that because there is no way that the Senate is going to remove him from office because of Stormy Daniels. And then, when Mueller delivers his report and there are cries for impeachment, Democrats will shy off. The country will have already been through that drama. How dare they inflict it on the country twice in one Administration?
