Welcome back, music lovers. It’s Wednesday somewhere, yeah? I have another hectic week that is only half behind me So it goes anymore.
I want to cycle back to something I used to inspire this series.
I think this pretty well embodies the values I have tried to impart with this series. If that means anything to you, beautiful. If not, so it goes.
I am about ready for a bit of a walkabout. My walkabouts mean I am more in lurk mode. I do tend to return. Now that things are tentatively better, it is time to for me take a break and get by head together. Bob Marley understood the struggle as well as anyone. So should we all. We did well on election day – at least as well as anyone would have data-driven reason to hope. I am happy but not content. Let’s remember that there is something now to be built upon, and it really does embody the values in this video. They are the values I live by on a daily basis. One Love, y’all.
I loved this band during my anarchopunk days. That Chumba managed a legit pop hit was something to savor a couple decades ago. In some ways this has been my theme song.
Today is National Harvey Wallbanger Day, so here is How To Make The Harvey Wallbanger from Best Drink Recipes.
On another note, if you’re going walkabout, should I take over this series until you return?
If you’re cool with it, I would definitely appreciate your taking over for a spell.
My walkabouts are always temporary (and I usually lurk or pop in for a sec every once in a while). I mentioned this upcoming one when I returned in July. I just need to focus on some matters much closer to home for a bit. Then I’ll come back. Folks who really want to find me on the internet tubes have my email address. Some manage to figure out the magic formula for finding me on social media.
This song by Gasper Nali was pure bliss.
And for Joss Stone fans here is this:
Foday Musa Suso has been part of my playlist for so long I would not want to even hazard a guess. I always liked this tune.
And a collaboration with Herbie Hancock (and a host of other greats) for the 1984 Summer Olympics.
The words were spoken around or before I was born. The soundtrack tune is now close to a decade and a half old. And yet it is still timely.
