Watching that video of Federal agents pounding on his front door in the early morning darkness, and yelling, “FBI! WARRANT! OPEN THE DOOR!” is a great way to end a week. It looked as if agents came prepared for anything, as they were carrying pretty heavy weapons and wearing bullet proof vests.
I thought I read that those agents were also working without pay.
If so, that might have added a little extra zeal to their door pounding given that Stone’s efforts to get the Popular Vote Loser elected helped bring about their current work-without-pay status.
So very sweet, and so very overdue. I especially like this news because a weenie in my master’s course study group, described Russian election meddling as “so two years ago,” and more or less a wild goose chase by Mueller. It’s a proper academic blog environment where we are advised to be courteous to one another, but I was about to go all Ralph Cramden on this jackass for a comment like that. Yep, Roger Stone is so two years ago, and we all need to get over it, according to this fellow classmate. Ugh.
Don Jr., Kushner, or the Donnie himself. All of which implicates Donnie Himself.

Does it matter legally?
Stone’s not charged with what he did: working with the Russians to install a puppet President. He’s being charged with lying about it, right? So as long as the other assholes aren’t caught lying (granted that’s a big caveat) are they in legal jeopardy for the act of treason-lite?
Evidently Bannon, who started in mid-August, is the “high-ranking campaign official.” The “senior campaign official” who was “directed” in mid-July is someone else. Wheeler speculates that it’s Gates.
Simultaneously hit his place in NY. Sounds like Mueller was not only sending a message that he was serious as a heart attack by the way they did the early morning raids but that he wanted to preserve any documents left.
Be nice if Stone had hidden away for the agents to find any kind of recordings or such that he’d use as his get outta jail free card.
Amusing that the Fibbies musta notified CNN – the network that Trump rails against the most – along for the ride, so we could all get a gander of one version of Traitor Stone’s perp walk.
Guess the Feebs don’t like having to be working as involuntary slaves to the Orange Anus in the White house.
Yes, I’ve seen that assumption. Others have pointed out that it’s quite possible CNN did a stakeout in advance, following yesterday’s signs in the GJ that something was going to go down today. Other stakeouts by CNN (of the courthouse, following) in the last few months have gotten results.
(Remember the Mystery Appellant and the closed hearing? All kinds of reporters were watching entrances to the courthouse to figure out who it was. No luck: the telltale parties entered through some kind of non-public, protected access.)

That’s probably standard gear for any door-busting warrant arrest, but still, yes, the optics of it….
Shit just got real

. . . earlier he’d have called it “premature”, “precipitous”, “a rush to judgment”, “entrapment”, [insert Banana Republican
talking-lying-point here].“have you heard? mueller just arrested roger stone.”
The “senior campaign official” cited in the indictment is Steve Bannon.
Bannon was directed to talk to Stone by whom?

Now that is news worth waking up to.
And now the WH is saying that Stone has nothing to do with the president. That doesn’t sound like a pardon is imminent.

The pond finally got a legit juicy frog march to watch.
It’s a beautiful day.
