Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Pocomoke City, Maryland painting. The photo that I’m using is seen directly above. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6×6 inch canvas.
When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
Lots of changes have occurred for this week’s cycle. Note the color change of the shadowed areas. The windows have been revised and details in the tops of the gables. The chimneys now appear in a brick color.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Just got back from coaching soccer. My Barcelonans won 8-1, but it would have much worse if we hadn’t spent the second half playing people out of position in an effort not to score. The striker we put in because we thought we’d be going easy on the opponent got a goal and an assist and then almost another goal. I think we had three players score their first goals of the season. It was good soccer no matter what we tried to undermine them. Very proud coach this afternoon.
We had a caching issue yesterday that really slowed down the site. Unsurprisingly, my enemies have also transferred their attacks to the new site, so it looks like I’ll have to continue to pay for extra security. The rate of bot attempts to access the site is roughly equivalent to the Battle of Winterfell.
This joint needs some music.

Nice painting! I think I’ve been to Pocomoke City, MD (kayaking in the Great Cypress Swamp near there).
I have wondered, not being a painter, how many hours do you have into the painting at this point?
Read the whole sign.

It’s good to see Boran’s wonderful artistry again. I’m a fan!
I am the rug hooker who creates art rugs. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, and I hope it’s okay.
My current piece in progress is a soldier with his bomb seeking dog. Here’s the preliminary design on the linen:

I’m impressed by how well you can create shadow and camouflage.
Thanks, Martin. I like to create rugs that challenge me, and this one’s a doozy. I dyed the wool and I have a cutter that strips it into thin long pieces, about a sixteenth of an inch wide. I pull the strips up through the linen backing with a hook to create the tiny loops. It takes a lot of time to fill the spaces!
I always love seeing your work too! I was just at the Maryland Sheep and Wool festival yesterday, and I’m always fascinated by all the non-knitting fiber arts there. Looking forward to seeing more of your progress, too.
