Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 127

Hello music lovers!

So what do we have this time? Let’s start with the Regrettes. Not familiar with them? They’re worth a listen.

It’ll be eclectic this week. If there is a theme, it’ll be whatever mutated out of the old punk scene.

The bar is open and the jukebox has an unlimited selection. Maybe we’ll have some more tributes to Democratic nomination contenders. Maybe there is still hope for what is broadly thought of as pop music after all (hint…the kids are alright). Stay tuned…

Cheers!

  1. Hi. Sorry for the lack of cafe updates. I have been dealing with some health issues. Have had a chronic headache for about a month and have been going through a number of tests trying to get a handle on what’s going on. Right now it looks like I can rule out the most serious problems (e.g., tumors). Still trying to see what an effective treatment plan might look like. So, yeah, this is slowing me down just a bit. Feel free to participate, etc. I love doing these, but this can’t be a one-person show. I’ll keep the last foto flog running for another week as well. Same basic reasons. Take care and catch you all on the flipside.

    1. I hope you find out the cause of your headaches and feel better. I haven’t been contributing much for real-world reasons as well, although mine are less dire. I just had to grade final exams and compute and enter grades for the summer session, but that was still time-consuming.

      1. Thanks! The muscle relaxers seem to be working. Unfortunately those tend to make me drowsy, so there are limits on when I can take those. At least the X-rays and CT scans were clear. Still waiting on some other tests. So I am guessing basic tension headache. If current treatment doesn’t work, may eventually find myself visiting a neurologist. I have also had a very busy summer – I taught a full load, which I rarely do. And of course the semester just got started where I work and also about to get underway where I adjunct.
