This week, I want to start off with a recent single by Grimes. I may be ambivalent about her as a person, but as an artist, she has been one of the most significant of the decade.
I will try to have more up as I can. The busiest week of my life is over. There is plenty of other chaos in my life, but the worst appears to be over.
This cafe is always a safe space if you want it. The jukebox is always open. The bar is free. What more could any of us want? Come in, enjoy the tunes and make some friends. We could all use that these days.
One more from her recent output. Presumably a new LP is in the works. This track apparently draws inspiration from early NIN and from North Korean propaganda videos along with her apparent obsession w/AI. Make of that what you will.

I’ll try to throw some more retro stuff here too. I know a lot of us are north of 50 (me included). For a lot of reasons I interact with people who are far younger than me, so I have a chance to get turned on to a lot of stuff that might have passed me by otherwise.
Nine Inch Nails. Anyone remember when Trent Reznor was just breaking big? I do:

A Trent Reznor side project, and one of the tracks he made sure went on the soundtrack for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo at the start of the decade:

Probably posted my quota of video embeds for the day. Will try to have more later.
Let me try this again – early Gary Numan circa 1979. Most people know him for “Cars” but his work with Tubeway Army is well worth seeking out if you like any sort of electronic music.

Okay. I guess all I get to see is the link. As good as it gets, I suppose. Life goes on.
Trying a different web browser:

No luck.
