Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be starting a new painting. It is a Chincoteague, Virginia scene. The photo that I’m using (My own from a recent visit.) is seen directly below.
I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas panel.
I started my sketch using my usual grind, duplicating the grid I made over a copy of the photo itself. Over this I added some preliminary paint.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

It’s a good start. I know your process pretty well by now. Just promise that the finished painting will actually be the finished painting and not a photo of a couple toxic Republicans. I’ll need years of therapy to get over that.
I never say this enough, but I love the scenic spots you choose for your paintings. The mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions always provide plenty of spots to photograph and paint. I also enjoy your desert paintings from trips to Arizona.
