The right of today is nihilistic, based on the parasitic extraction of wealth and value from the supine body of America. Say what you will about National Socialism…

Antonin Scalia says the Constitution doesn’t prohibit torture. But that’s because Scalia doesn’t think the Bill of Rights applies to non-citizens. Has he not ever read what the people who wrote the Bill of Rights said?
But Hayden could demonstrate on Scalia what exactly torture involves to clarify his understanding.
And in unrelated news, Rick Santorum self-identifies as the “under-dog”. Does that mean that Hayden is “the man”?
And the appropriate vacation for Dick Cheney is a free USAF-provided flight to the Hague attired in a fashionable orange jumpsuit and black hood and shackled to the floor of a C-130. If the President wants to make his referral to the ICC in style, that is. It’s not like Cheney would be on the Tuesday “kill list” or anything.
Which raises the question, which genius at the CIA persuaded the White House to start assassinating with drones? And on the basis of what intelligence, vetted by whom? Nice Stalinist ploy to get the President’s hands bloody from the get-go.
Moreover, that was a pretty slick maneuver that Boehner pulled last night–insisting that 57 Dems walk the plank on the CRominibus POS or the White House would have no appropriation bill past January. That allowed a few Republicans to vote No on the POS.
When Joan Walsh talks about a collapse of authority that spans the CIA and local police forces, you know that the political system is in deep shit. There is bottom yet to find, but we’ve already hit the shit.

What we’re seeing is like the the very long overture to the imperial collapse America seems determined to rush towards.
What is striking to me, although it shouldn’t be surprising at all, is the extraordinary combination of naked evil and abject, astonishing incompetence. Something has gone very very rotten in American institutions. It’s extraordinary how eager these institutions were to break the law and international conventions, to stomp on the last shred of human decency, and how pathetically incompetent at it they were. People look at Dick Cheney and see Emperor Palpatine. What they should see is a criminally sociopathic Homer Simpson.
The torture debacle is really just the whole “War on Terror” in a microcosm. Knuckleheaded ideologues spent oceans of money to turn the world to shit, profiteers got rich, and America was put in a much worse place because of it.

I cannot understand why people give the slightest credibility to these bozos. Don’t Americans realize yet that lying is their job and that they have been lying non-stop for the last 65 years? They literally have a warrant to lie (in the interests of “national security”, so called). The least we can do under the circumstances is not pay any attention to their baloney.
