Feeling your pain. At least you don’t have to pay for the repairs or the new AC at work. Our new AC is working, and I hope it will for at least as long as our old one did.
I’m debatin heading there soon…the AC is still blowing warm air into my office, and mine is the worst of those without AC…
While I’m griping about work, cam i just say how tired I am of truculent, grumpy old men who think they should have had my job instead of me? It’s given me new perspective on what my mother’s working life was like thirty years ago.
I just watched 42 episodes of Mad Men in under a week…I assume it was a lot like that for your mom. Not the glamour and the hotness of Don Draper..but everything else.
It wasn’t all that different when I started working — in fact, there were still separate job ads for men and women and at my college’s career placement office the first question they asked after finding out I wasn’t an education or nursing major was “how fast can you type?”.
The wedding was really a lot of fun and I hate weddings. They have such a great group of friends who put the whole thing together on a really tight budget. To top it off, I got to stay at a swanky hotel with my somewhat longtime companion and I didn’t even have to pay for it. 🙂 Back to the real world with no king sized bed and no chocolates on the pillow…
I’m not too keen on weddings either but those pictures made Ryan’s look like it was a really fine time (and wedding). I’m glad you got to enjoy it — it seems like a lot of moms (well at least one that I can think of) spend most of their time fretting about everything.
We’ve actually had a cool down here — upper 80s today and low 80s for the rest of the week. Hope you are going to get the same (but still work from home).
Weird, weird, weird. Those two comments were “posted” at the same time. I did the first one (the second one to post) and it never posted so I closed the window and did the second one (the first one to post) in a different window. And somehow that first one posts almost an hour later.
Perfect timing — Friday Foto Flogging is tomorrow and we’d love to see some of you vacations photos there. But if you don’t get them sorted out in time, I hope you will post some here in the cafe or link to them.
And gloomy! It looks like it’s 8 o’clock at night right now – but I guess it will be easy to convince Finny to take his nap today.
It has been so long since we had a good nasty rain day that I’m enjoying this one. Just picked up CBtE from a friend’s house, and we’re just going to chill this afternoon, and evening.
When I got my first digital camera I spent a lot of time sitting in the flowers taking pictures of them. It was a great exercise. They barely noticed me, busy as they were.
Nowadays they’re into the mullein. It seems to make them a little bit sleepy. Or maybe it’s the weather.
I heard about inredible rainfall amounts throughout the region. 8 – 11″ in 24 hours. We seem to be clearing out today. Back to the outdoor chores for me, dammit.
Temperature in my office has gone up 5 degrees in the past 30 minutes, with more warm air pouring in the vents…
ugh.
Sorry to hear – this is no time for A/C failure:(

Sounds like a great reason for everybody to work at home today.

P.S. Recovered from the wedding?

Wishing the new couple the very best, SN. Glad you had a good time!
Riffing off of Andi’s comment, I LOVED the pics from the wedding. Especially the b&w ones with the tree.

A/C is now fixed. And those 80-degree temps sound awesome, and should be here in time for my wfh days (Thursday and Friday). Yay!
As if we need a good reason for that. 😉
feels like a frat party:
Yep – every time the grandkids stay over:-)
The plastic cups one is resonating with me today. 🙂
I’m about as tierd as if I’d been to a frat party tonight, too.
So Finn’s graduated from footies to a toga, eh?
could get him to wear those laurels. 🙂
This is brilliant, CG!

YAHD – which is good since it means one more day only until vacation.
Yay for vacation! Off to the cabin?
Yup. Oslo over the weekend. Then the kids arrive Monday and we’ll drive straight down there.
Hope you have fine time. As always, I’m eager to see some photos. It’s such a lovely place.

CG, are you gaslighting me? 😉
Not me! That is weird.
Ah, no need to drive to the office today – thank goodness, because I think I have a very busy work day ahead of me…
Have a great time!
last day this week (yay for wfh). Good thing, because I miss my Finny.
Looking forward to the cooler weather tomorrow and Friday, too.
Lucky you! I’m still carrying on without my coworker, back next week from his vacation. It can’t come soon enough.
I’m back from my travels. Now for the uploading and sorting through photos part.

FFF is tomorrow and the theme is Street: concept, or abstract.
Looking forward to it!
Ack! New free speech issue crops up in SC.
Balls!
I wonder …
if the truck testes had been painted with the confederate battle flag, would the police officer have said anything?
if they get cut off, is that called carstration?
It would limit the truckosterone.

We had rain last night and it’s not supposed to break 80 today. The weather gods are definitely feeling kindly toward Brown County.
It’s been pouring here for hours. Fortunate for us, we waited until today to run around and do all our shopping. 🙁
If not to the Indiana State Fair. Yikes.
Someone last night said it was a wind shear. Regardless, it was bad news for certain.
The video of it was surreal…like something from the Wizard of Oz.
Yeah, really spooky.
The video of it was horrific.
We’re seeing more of this kind of thing all the time, unfortunately.
Lesson learned — always read the news before posting.
What a horrible thing to happen.

Sounds good.
We needed the rain badly here. Looks like it’ll rain for a couple of days, too. I can stay inside & actually use the computer!

Wow. Amazing photo, Andi! Really great.
Thanks.
The bees kept falling into the flowers and crawling out like someone on a pub crawl. It was great fun watching them.
Yes, they’re great to watch.
When I got my first digital camera I spent a lot of time sitting in the flowers taking pictures of them. It was a great exercise. They barely noticed me, busy as they were.

The bees here are currently going happy over thistle.
Wow, that is an amazing photo.
On another note, our skies have lightened to a pale grayish blue, from the deep gray overcast we’ve enjoyed for most of the morning.
Thanks too.
If there was rain with that gray, I’d prefer it over all the blue sky we’ve had — though we did get a bit of rain on Sunday (but just .2 of an inch).
Still raining. And it apparently will tomorrow too. Feast or famine.
More like ‘flood or famine’ nowadays ..
And it keeps coming. Driving home yesterday was extremely dangerous. It nearly shut down route 17.
Really? Wow.
Glad you made it home ok.

Blocked. I’ll have to see this later. Sigh.
I kind of wish I posting nsfw pics so your having to wait would feel justified.
