Does anyone know the votes in the Senate race in that county compared to the Presidency? I’m curious since the only other one on the ballot in the Senate race was a Hispanic woman, though also a Democrat. Yeah, given how lopsided CA now is, two Democrats can face off in the general in California since the primary is top 2 regardless of party.
Good point. It’s a weak example because there are too many cross-currents. Sanchez is definitely on the right side of the Dem Party, but she is Hispanic. Placer is also in N. CA which is outside Sanchez’s stomping grounds. The dropout/dropout vote in “Trump” counties from the presidential ballot line to senate was very high. It appears that Harris polled better in votes than Clinton in NorCal counties and ran even or better with Sanchez in SoCA

The CIA…and the forces it represents…tried to prevent Trump from winning by making it appear that he was a Russian stooge.

The FBI side won. The CIA side is now on the defensive…trying to make Trump’s tenure suspect and possibly eventually even topple him from power.

As was mentioned frequently before the election, Comey is allied with the NY branch of the FBI, which is viciously anti-Clinton for some reason. Probably because they’re right wing assholes. So that’s part of what’s going on here. It will be interesting to see how Trump handles the CIA. Be careful, Trump. Remember what happened to JFK.

Old school journalists were working class and learned their craft by doing. Sort of a meritocracy based on talent, skill, and performance and not where they went to school. Carl Bernstein is on the cusp between old and new school:

Don’t actually know whether he did J-School. He’s certainly a prime example, though, of an alleged “journalist” being co-opted into the social/economic elite, and neutered thereby, while still being lauded for his sorry excuses for “journalism” by his elite cohort.
I was thinking more of print journalists. TV anchors seem to follow a different career path with the same result. Radio > TV with college optional or any college followed by any law school and/or a stint as a political hire to either a Republican or Democrat. Marrying in is another option.
Well, as it happens, I live 1/4 mile from Blair High School, which is one of the highest performing high schools in the country. I also have two brothers that are both Pulitzer Prize winning journalists (Reuters and Dallas News). The Reuters brother won the first Pulitzer the news agency ever won. I am only mentioning this to say that they are rigorously fact based journos and, as someone once said, reality has a liberal bias. There maybe honest rightwing journalists who deal in facts but they are probably vanishingly rare. Most Conservatives deliberately create “facts” to conform to their ideology. And no one more so than our conman Presidential Elect.
