I was reading online yesterday, and someone casually mentioned the numerous instances of what appears to be perjury by Bush Administration officials. It got me thinking that it would be a worthwhile project to pull together all the instances of possible perjury into one big easy to find resource.
I’m not a researcher, so I’m not really sure how to even start going about such a project. Does anyone care to discuss with me 1)whether this is actually worthwhile 2)what work it would involve 3)how to use a finished product 4)any other issues that haven’t occurred to me.
Thanks
This is a fabulous idea, though I have no advice on how to actually do it. Certainly there have been lots of lists posted of instances in which members of Bushco have lied, but to narrow it down to those cases in which 1) the person was under oath; and 2) the testimony was demonstrably a conscious lie could be a challenge. Bushco is very skilled at clearly implying an untruth without actually asserting it, and unless the person was adequately grilled, in many cases I think you’d find they danced around the truth without technically lying.
I’m not so sure about that. Bolton seemed to be pretty brazenly lying during his confirmation hearing. But I guess that would become clear during the research.
