Kudos to katiebird for concocting a new template for FBC notices!
I need a cup o’ Joe. And for those of you with “skills,” as Napoleon Dynamite would say, I could use your help with “Operation Yellow Feather/Froggy Pond.” See diary.
(Love that dang little frog sitting on the coffee cup).
Man am I a slow reader. I’m never going to finish book in time for club. I was always a back bencher in school.
I know what you mean about the slow reader…I’m loving the book, but still am not even a quarter of the way finished. Oy.
And I just don’t seem to stay awake as long anymore. I’m hoping that I can catch up during the 5 days I’ll have off for Thanksgiving.
If not, I’ll just skip to the end of the book 🙂
I’m going to ignore BooTrib and my other blog addictions most of the day and spend it reading. Last night, I’d read about 20 pages and then come over to check out the lounge — got about 120 pages read that way but it’s too disjointed.
See ya later.
Hello all! Shameless promotion: Post photos of your own art on 12/3 in the saturday painting thread!
Do you want to write up some short copy for a bulletin notice? We can paste it right in, and it seems just the thing for it….
Sure, would I e-mail this to you?
Na — (jumping into another conversation) Just post it here. That way we can both grab it.
🙂
I’d simply like to say that:
On 12/3/05 Tribbers are encouraged to post small photos of their own artwork (any kind) in the morning painting thread. (usually open at about 9:00 eastern time)
Thanks!
The new template looks terrible.
But, the results are just fine — how this could be, I don’t know. But oh, well.
Anyway, please let me know if the template DOESN’T work for you and I’ll play with it some more. For now, I’m sick of it.
(Or just frustrated)
You can send it to froggybottomphotofair@gmail.com & we’ll get it posted ASAP.
Nevermind!
And I can get froggybottom to put it in the template.
Just a quick hello brother and others today as it’s almost time for the morning news…The new cafe template looks great and thanks Katie for that…see you all after the shows are over here…..maybe…lol
I’ll be out the rest of the afternoon, but will be back this evening — in time for some “Rome” live-blogging, if anyone else is up for it. Be good, you kids!
OK… So I was up real late last night reading Blogs and looking for more sources for the Booman Tribune Plamegate Project. There has been some really interesting stuff coming out this weekend, and one of the biggest was one of the UK papers, The Times, confirming that Hadley was Woodwards leak.
I know a lot of people volunteered to help dig up information for the Plamegate Project. If you have seen anything new or interesting recently concerning the CIA leak feel free to dump it in this Plamegate Project diary.
We have a lot of links there already, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t missed something important. I know that there aren’t a lot of Booman Tribune diaries that have been thrown in there yet.
The writers for the project may be familiar with many of the diaries that fly by on the right side of your Bootrib screen, BUT I was thinking that maybe it would be a huge help if you all could go through your own diaries and dump the links in the Plamegate Project diary since you know what you have written yourselves better than anyone else.
You don’t want your best stuff excluded from this project just because we may have missed it do you? Besides the fact that it might be nice to increase the Booman Tribune content used as sources.
Sorry if this comment seems like a darned diary. I really need some coffee!
Quick cuppa then gotta get going. Here’s a foggy foto for your morning :
More great photos at Blue Ridge Muse.
Have a great day…later
Peace
The colours almost make it look like a painting.
I went over to Blue Ridge Muse’s site…wow!
Thanks for the link…I’ll be admiring his work more!
Saw this headline, and knew where it had to be posted: Bush Gets Promises, Not Actions, From Hu
Susan, is there something you want to share with us?
Morning everyone. Boy is our house sleepy. We had a houseful of people over yesterday, mostly to gawk at Andrew. So many of our friends were so kind to us during our 18 month pregnancy that we thought it would be nice to have an open house. Plus, this is the only way for my American friends to see Andrew in the flesh. He cannot yet travel to the states. Hopefully, he will have is visa in a few weeks. In the meantime, here is a much belated shot of unabashed cuteness
Special Notice: WIth the hope that this is not in violation of protocol, here a special notice about the third installation of “Greetings from Turtle Island,” my American Indian Heritage Month series.
Since it seems the message contained therein, while it is likely to be better recieved here, it is for that reason all the more necessary that it first appear in the big brother blog, dKos, so I have posted it there.
If it is a big “no-no” to make this kind of announcement here, please forgive me (and for those with the power to delete, please delete); I will likely be re-posting the diary over here once it’s disappeared into the memory hole over there.
(more special notice: to Chicago Laurie Anderson fans, she’s playing at the art institute tonight!).
No, it’s fine…Thanks for telling us! (off to go read)
Delivering the message where it will be least appreciated first.
Our family will make it a priority today.
I’m a glutton for punishment, I guess, which is probably why I made the terrible mistake of reading this one, which, needless to say, caused me to lose my lunch.
(No worry, I’ll be nowhere near the Net for dinner!)
I glimpsed this while walking the Twa Totos, a very representative collage of the greens and greys of fall and winter around the Sound.
Florida Mom is strongly into her Christianity–the liberal kind, thank God–so she and Puget4 went off to church this morning. The church’s web site suggests almost an activist-liberal orientation so I’ll be interested to hear their impressions when they return.
Is she in Seattle right now? I have family there that could bring something to them (food?, flowers?, some other assistance?).
2005 totally sucks.
Except for the Cafe, of course…
Busy day today; we were going to get flu shots, then I realized I totally screwed up reading the schedule; the last day was yesterday not today! Had a good day anyway though; went out to brunch, got some shopping done, came home and took a short nap while the spouse was on the computer.
I actually bought some holiday decorations; a cute little fiber optic tree that was on sale, and some small ornaments to carefully hang from it. It’ll fit well on a small cart I have near the front window, so we’ll have at least a few decorations this year. Last year we were in the midst of still settling in and also Mom’s final months, so holiday decorations were the last thing on my so-called-mind back then. I really hope my sister’s able to find Mom’s nativity set in all the Christmas stuff she brought home with her. Mom bought it in Mexico many years ago, and it’s always been one of my favorites, especially the chubby Mary. 🙂
Blessings and peace to everyone here this evening…
