A video grab from a clip — dated January 28 — broadcast by Arab satellite channel Al-Jazeera television shows kidnapped US journalist Jill Carroll making a harrowing appeal for her release. Carroll tearfully pleaded for her life in the latest video released by her captors as Britain suffered its 100th military fatality in Iraq.

Fear
by Ciaran Carson
I fear the vast dimensions of eternity.
I fear the gap between the platform and the train.
I fear the onset of a murderous campaign.
1 fear the palpitations caused by too much tea.
I fear the drawn pistol of a rapparee.
I fear the books will not survive the acid rain.
I fear the ruler and the blackboard and the cane.
I fear the Jabberwock, whatever it might be.
I fear the bad decisions of a referee.
I fear the only recourse is to plead insane.
I fear the implications of a lawyer’s fee.
I fear the gremlins that have colonized my brain.
I fear to read the small print of the guarantee.
And what else do I fear? Let me begin again.

Peace
100th British military death in Iraq
not sure I can stand it anymore. Heart is filled with so much sadness. Personally and Politically. It’s a huge weight that is now careening down the side of my cheeks in the form of salty tears.
Can’t stand it but I have nowhere else to go but try to stop it – each day in some small way.
In Memory of Mrs. King
I need your help in the Karpisnki diary. I’m trying to do something but my yahoo email is seen as spam. Towards end of the diary. Thanks!
go over to Arcturus diary in the side bar of diaries. It can be found there.
It’s okay. I got the email through. It may have been a site hiccup on Clark’s side.
to honor Coretta King and all that have fallen victim to this corrupt, illegal war for profit.
Peace be with you!
I light this today for all that is evil, and wrong and sad in this old world today.

Georgia Stillwell | Veteran’s Mother’s State of Our Family Address
George Bush is going to give us his state of the union, well this is the state of my family. People say to me he volunteered, he knew what he was getting into. My son was still a teenager, he had no idea what he was getting into. Can anyone really comprehend war unless they’ve been there? The war has come home … it is coming home with each soldier. My son’s body survived Iraq … nothing else.
That letter to the editor says it all. They expect our loved ones to DIE for “fighting for freedom” and yet they rally to have those very freedoms trashed.
They are traitors.
