I found the video in question and it’s disgusting. Not much better than the video of the British mercenaries picking off cars on the highway two months ago.
Britain investigates video of Iraq soldier abuse
A British newspaper released a video on Sunday apparently showing British soldiers savagely beating Iraqi teenagers in 2004, prompting Prime Minister Tony Blair to promise a full investigation. “We take seriously any allegations of mistreatment, and this will be investigated very fully indeed,” Blair told reporters after a meeting of left-of-centre leaders in South Africa. “But I have to say to you that the overwhelming majority of British troops in Iraq, as elsewhere, behave properly and are doing a great job. They are helping Iraqis to become the democracy they would like to be.” The video, released by the News of the World and shown widely on British television as well as Arabic news stations, showed a group of soldiers dragging Iraqi protestors behind a wall while a demonstration is under way, and beating them with batons and kicking them.
I guess they’re just following the US lead of “winning the hearts and mind of Iraqis” by bashing and torturing them.
I can only hope USA and the UK get taken to trial for these attrocities. But… I won’t hold my breath
to ensure that strong action is taken against any unauthorized videography or photography in closed military zones, and that those responsible for the lax security conditions that permitted the possession and use of such photographic equipment will be quickly identified and dealt with harshly.
The US can be of assistance to its coalition partner in this matter, having had to deal with a similar problem at one of its facilities, where US personnel were found to have engaged in prohibited photography activities.
