Well you lost me there CG. But, I will say, and this is pitiful, when my daughters were small, I used to dream of actually walking out of the store with two completely full grocery carts.
Let’s just say that sometimes the hormonal dorky weird know-it-all routine gets to me. Sensory overload or something.
Ah, I know exactly what you mean. Except I was the one doing the routine years ago. Doesn’t help now, but he’ll look back and think how could I have put her through that.
And I try not to take it personally, but sometimes I just want to scream! And if I hadn’t seen what my friends’ daughters dished out to them before he hit this age, I don’t know what I’d think (other than “I need a vacation”).
My Mom is my best friend and has been my entire life even when I went through my stage where I thought she was the dumbest human on the face of the earth. LOL We do get over it and most apologize later in life.
We get along really well, it’s just this whole voice-changing, puberty thing making him weird.

Oh my goddess, my daughter is in the throws of puberty and has PMS worse than me! I keep telling myself, it’s just a couple more years, just a couple more years…ack!
When your kids are going through puberty, what parent could ask for a more joyful experience.

One day the tables will be turned. That’s one thing I like about being older. I can act like such a spoiled brat sometime. One day he’ll be older and then you can have some fun.
Take it from me, boys are easier! My daughter and I are both way too emotional and way too hormonal and way too sensitive and way too self-critical. Makes for some fun mother-daughter moments.
My sons are all easy going and amiable, even though they have some grumpy teenage moments on occasion. And of course they know everything. They won’t realize until much later how much they don’t know.
Now I was a teen boy once and I was never grumpy.

WooHoo! I am so physched. I still haven’t packed, but I’m doing the last of the laundry now and have cleaned out my car. Then it’s to bed reasonably early so I can get up early and drive like the wind! I still want to run to the store and pick up some wine or port for the event and fill the gas tank. I can’t wait to meet you. I still think it’s a hoot that we live about 20 miles apart, and yet we will travel 500 to first meet. :>)
I bringing my daughter and one of her friends to keep her company. It will be interesting to see how they hold up on an 8 hour drive. :>)

I checked, the room does have a coffee pot and I have some whole beans I will grind before I leave. Hotel coffee is dreadful. Make sure to bring some filters too. They usually only have those filter/coffee things.
My dad turned me onto port. I’ve had some really nice and expensive ports, but some of the cheaper bottles are not too bad either. I must say, that I’ve never had white port. I am very curious. It sounds yummy.

Interesting times getting here — the bus drivers down here are absolutely delightful. The one from the airport to downtown was a Latino; we talked politics just about all the way. He was intrigued by my reason for coming down…he’s a blue in a sea of red himself; spent the weekend arguing about the proposed immigration “reforms” with his older daughter in Bakersfield. Transferred from that bus to another, and I swear that driver was flirting with me — he offered to show me around the area, either by bus or on his Harley. As the iPig would say, “Hooooo LAWD!!!” 🙂 Third driver was quite professional (in other words boring)…
Settled in the room — was sweaty and sticky so took a shower (glad I packed an extra outfit!); weather down here is wonderful! Hoping to hold off till Countdown is over before I venture out to find food (and drink); haven’t really eaten since breakfast though so I’m getting extremely hungry! Tomorrow I plan to venture back to downtown San Diego to do some photography — mainly the old Santa Fe rail station (now used by Amtrak and the local Coasters trains) and some shots of buses and the San Diego Trolley, if only to thank the spouse for letting me come out and play. 🙂 Will go early so I can get back here by about 3 or so in case I need to freshen up for tomorrow night…

Unfortunately I’m a packrat. I might not have anything, but what I do have, I keep. I’ve got boxes from moves 15 years ago that I haven’t unpacked yet. I know there’s some good stuff in there, but I’ll get around to it.

What am I talking about. I couldn’t spell the fishes name. You can’t find anything typing in little fish that eat you up.

Just highlight a work, press [ctrl, alt w] and a little dictionary box pops up.
I’ve already got it. It’s good for checking a word, but when your spelling doesn’t even come near the word…..
You can also hit [ctrl, alt /] and do the same thing.
What I do is guess at a word or go for an antonym, it usually leads me to the word I was thinking of. Although, I don’t think the little fishes thing would have worked… but you could type vulture or something close and then click on the types at the bottom.
I’m so far off sometimes that I sometimes wonder if Enlish was any language I ever learned. There’s been many times I started to type something here and have had to change the sentence because either the one word I was looking for wouldn’t come or couldn’t spell it.
