I will be live blogging the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearings about Feingold’s censure resolution on Friday morning at 9:30am ET over at my place. Everybody’s welcome!
Hi there Catnip. Always good to see you! Just wanted to let you know that we are having cheesecake Sat. night here at the SoCal meetup in Del Mar. I will have an extra piece in your honor…lol!
Will check out what you post later. I am a night owl–can’t fall asleep before 3-4 AM, and if by some miracle I do, don’t even talk to me until after noon! (Or at least until I have had a few cups of coffee!
Thanks for letting everyone know and for doing so!
Oh, and I am fascinated by Wales. Had a great honeymoon in Cardiff in 1990 (the ONLY good part of a short mistaken marriage.) I did find it strange, though, when looking at the back of the pound coin to find a rose, shamrock, thistle or onion on the coin.
Well, to a Texan it looked like an onion. What the heck is a “leek”, and why does Wales find an attachment to it? Did the Scots have first choice and choose the thistle?
I’m not so sure. I think it might be more significant if Cheney resigns. After all, when in danger or in doubt, who does the Secret Service shuttle off to an undisclosed location and who do they let ride his bicycle around the potential blast zone?
Bush without Cheney is like Mortimer Snerd without Edgar Bergen. I almost said Charlie McCarthy, but that’s giving the wooden-headed dummy credit for way too much intelligence (and no, I’m not talking about Charlie).
No. Rummy’s exit is to admit failure so we’re kicking the ball years down the road. We’re ‘staying the course’, and [Iraq] it’s for ‘future presidents to decide’, the man said.
Everything is tickety boo. It’s just a problem in communicating.
Rummy is responsible for the debacle called Iraq as is VP Cheney. All they did in Iraq II is prove the Powell Doctrine works and Rummy’s F’upped hybrid plan gets Americans killed.
Say, we’ve been having so much fun with the Kaloogian hooliganism, that I’m beginning to worry he’ll benefit from the attention. Suggestions on how do make sure he doesn’t?
I’d thought it wouldn’t be until late summer when rummy was pushed out but now I think it’s goingto happen sooner.
the reason I think it will be sooner is that the neocons are desperately trying to hold on to powewr even as their continued machinations only dig the hole of their ideology’s spectacular failure even deeper.
Despite the rhetoric, their attempt to enlist the UN in their assault against Iran is going to go down in humiliating defeat. Additionally, their attacks against the compound in Iraq where members of Moqtada al-Sadr’s gang were killed, combined with recent statements expressing displeasure with the selection of Ibrahim al-Jafari as PM, have further eroded any meaningful leverage they have within the framework of the so-called Iraqi government. I’m sure that whatever degree of credibility arch neocon (and founding PNAC signatory) Zalmay Khalilizad might have once had with the Iraqi power brokers as a good-faith negotiator and interlocutor is now in tatters.
So, the neocons desperately need a sacrifice to protect the sanctity od their ideological fantasy. In short, they need to blame someone else for the “failures”, and that person wil be Rumsfeld. (Of course the neocons are too irrational, too infatuated with their own infalibility, to understand that even giving Rummy the boot will not help them retain their grip on power. they are, for all intents and purposes, already history, even if they don’t know it yet.

Also added to my blogroll at Politics Plus Stuff. My kid, Syniel, especially likes her writing, and I find it quite good.
Sorry I forgot to link to my blog. Whoops. Syniel is your kid? Cool!

Ah, catnip! I miss your inputs so much here. Glad to know you are alive and hopefully well. Take care.
Hopefully Rummy will just return to his home planet and save us any further trouble.
Can these hearings be seen live on TV & if so where?
Thanks.
If they will not be aired I`ll be checking out your live blog.
he’s not responsible for the Iraq debacle.
The only person in this administration whose resignation would mean anything is George-fucking-Bush.
Anything else is window dressing.
