The dogs and I had difference of opinion on whether I should get up.
It’s obvious who were the more persuasive.
LOL the dogs always win on that one.
Yup, they are persistant. Hopeful does the scratching on the glass door for all of them — it’s as bad as chalk on blackboards.
Saw your design below. Looking good.
My dogs just start licking my ear and jumping on me. LOL
Thanks for the compliment on the design.
I see you were a latenighter last night.
There are ripples running through the world of Geezerdom.
Morning FM.
I think it was the green tea I had at dinner.
But I was a piker — I saw that Olivia, NDD, and IVG were still chatting at 4:00 a.m.
Yes I saw that.
I don’t know how they do it.
Good morning all.
Great picture above, Andi. Is it current?
Morning!!!!!
The picture is from Thursday.
Did you get to the park yesterday or did the rain keep you indoors?
No trip in the park 🙁
Rainy most of the day, but had a great brunch with an old friend from Norway who is passing through NY this weekend.
but brunch sounds fun.
It’s still wet and gloomy here this morning. And foggy. What to do, what to do…
Need I even jump in here and say what this would be a perfect day for?
BTW, I don’t know if I missed it, but how did the costume thing go?
It went over great! I was surprised at how cooperative someone was that morning.
And the colonial day thing was really wonderful…they did all kinds of neat stuff, like making candles, and they talked about colonial medicine, and one of the parents (who’s a surgeon and has these things) brought in a bowl of leeches…
A bowl of leeches? That sounds like a good description of the panel on the Chris Matthews show.
I am awake, but I am thinking that is a mistake….
Morning BooMan!!!!!
morning rf69. How you doin?
Great and I hope you are. The Diva Dogs are passed out after eating their breakfast and running around outside for a few. LOL
Ah, bliss.
The ARE divas, aren’t they? Did you take those pictures with the new toy?
Yeppers. I am having fun with the camera. I would probably do better with it if I would actually read the instructions. LOL
maryb and andi told me to RTFM to figure out how to do the macro thing…and it actually worked. Now why didn’t I think of that on my own?
RPTFLMAO!!!!! Same reason I couldn’t figure out how to stop it from taking 30 seconds to flash and of course the dogs move before then.
Slack Boo, Slack.
Mmm…slimy leeches and Chris Matthews. Sounds about right.
What are you doing up this early? Boo scratching at the door or something?
just woke up, and now I regret it. I wish I had some cheese to make an omelet.
I would send you some of the cheese in my fridge but it would be spoiled by the time it got there. LOL
Do you have bread? You could do the egg-in-a-nest thing instead. Or if you have salsa, you could do scrambled eggs and salsa…oh, better not get me started on how to use up eggs when you have too many.
Maybe you’ll get a chance to jump back in bed later?
…thinking…
I’m already back in bed. The wonders of wireless blogging…
LOL
we’re wireless — spouse was perched in bed with computer till 1:30am…then again, I was cleaning the freakin’ bathroom at freakin’ 1am (at least I was accomplishing something).
Think I’m too keyed up to sleep — Sharks Game 2 is at 10am Pacific, and they’ve got to win this one to avoid coming home 0-2.
Had a light breakfast (cereal, banana, milk); making brunch about 11am (1st intermission) of quiche (picked up a couple of frozen broccoli/cheese quiches at Trader Joe’s — looking forward to trying them out), and will probably make a Caesar salad to go along. Wish I had some champagne to make mimosas…wonder if I can coax spouse out of bed in the next hour to make a booze run…
After the game, planning to tote cardboard out to the recycling center, and also to stop and pick up some flowers and head for the cemetary; today would’ve been my mom’s 79th birthday and my parents’ 59th anniversary, so want to go pay respects… sigh still having trouble adjusting to the no-parent thing…
Have a great day, folks…
Booman, just have a big bowl of grits.
Or
I want those pancakes. Who will make them for me?
Already have. But ya gotta eat your grits if ya want to grow up big and strong.
At least that’s what I was always told.
You mean they brought in a bowl of Repugnants? Must have been a big bowl and really bad smell. LOL
So did our favorite angsty adolescent get over his grumbling about the costume and enjoy himself after all?
This one is the snippy pre-adolescent, but he recovered nicely. I think sometimes he just enjoys being snippy to jerk everybody’s chain.
Beautiful picture up top, btw.
Didn’t we all as kids? It is always fun to test the limits with parents and see how far we can go before we get into trouble. LOL
Heh. I am sure that I never gave my parents a moment’s trouble, ever. Really. Despite what they might say to the contrary… 🙂
My Mom said they would have been happy for me to give them trouble when I was a kid.
Just never could wake me up.
when I was a kid my mother always said that I could get into trouble just sitting still.
Actually I feel very sorry for my parents.
When adolescences hit, I was a very difficult person to be around.
My Mom has never let me forget it.
Mom actually said I was great as a kid and teenager but became a total asshole at the age of 21 untill about 30. LOL I rebelled lated.
My mother’s hair was almost totally gray at 30. She seems to think I had something to do with it.
Mom’s was always frosted so we are not sure when it went gray. LOL
My kids have been uncommonly kind with me and have avoided major adolescent nastiness. Just some minor moodiness.
My senior in high school is has huge responsbilities on set-construction and design for the play that opens on Thursday, and yesterday he and my other boy were at the high school from 9:30 AM until after 10:00 PM.
Late in the afternoon he came home mad because some girl had moved something and dumped an entire gallon of yellow paint on Colin and it was dripping off of him from head to toe. After changing clothes I gently told him to calm down before driving back to school.
So ten minutes later I get a call that he had “clipped” a curb in the school parking lot and ripped off the bottom of his radiator. I didn’t even have to say I told you so as he saw all of his tips from Applebees going to a new radiator.
OH no!!!! Anger and cars do not mix at all and now this. I feel sorry for him.
You’ll feel even sorrier if you have any idea what a new radiator for that volvo sw costs…
I might take part of it out in trade. He gives really good backrubs when he’s motivated.
my sister trained my nephew from a young age to give backrubs. He’s in his early 30s and it still works — if you sit down next to him, he starts rubbing your back immediately — never have to say a word.
LOL I don’t even want to think about it. lol
It’s a lesson learned and he’ll appreciate a good Mom that didn’t rub his nose in it.
Of course keep that in your back pocket for when he’s out of college and on his own. Mothers and guilt.
To be effective at inducing guilt you have to have a much better memory than I have. Maybe I should keep a journal of all of their infractions for later reference.
Morning, FM.
Morning SN. I think that’s a good idea about the journal.
Years from now, you could say, “Do I have to look on page 237, para. 3 to remind you of this.” 🙂
lol, i’ll have to try that. The thing is that the really good stuff I’ll never know about. Just like with my mom.
The thing is, you don’t have to know everything. Just a few good things in the book and let them know that you know everything and are writing it down.
Just too keep them off tract, every year get a larger book and tell em that they are filling up the old book to fast.
Memory is an interesting thing. My 84-year old mom is starting to have problems remembering recent events but she’s still perfectly capable of sentences that start “Remember when you were five and you …”
Mom is 71 and remembers everything!!!!!
My Mom is 80 and she still is pretty good with memory, except with her address book.
She finally found it last night. She put it in the china cabinet and didn’t remember it. That’s one of the few places I didn’t look.
I do stuff like that all the time and I am 47. I found my cell phone in the fridge one time. LOL
I’ve heard that’s common. That’s why people with Alzheimer’s will think that their children are their siblings from 60 years ago.
Depression really eviscerates your memory. I guess it’s because the experience is never really “filed” in the right spot to begin with.
I prefer to think it’s that my bad behavior was so spectacular it can’t be forgotten. I like being outstanding.
But if you double-check with your kids, they’ll probably tell you that they have never done anything bad in their entire lives.
ROTFLMAO!!!! Yes and I was a perfect angel also. LOL
Sounds truly wonderful.
Sounds like they had a lot of fun things.
Leeches and candy? Doesn’t seem to work for me.
Glad you had a good time with your friend.
How did things go with your old friend.
I hope everthing went smoothly.
Ops, morning FM – see right above.
Cool.
Good Morning!!!! Hope everyone had a great night’s sleep and is ready for a wonderful day. I have already been working on a new design.
Time To Chase the Repugnants Out of Town
Are Reba and Bette those yellow dog Democrats on the T-shirt?
LOL Well, they do growl every time shrub is on TV. LOL
Morning Everyone.
Morning FamilyMan!!!!
How’re you this am Refinish?
I’m just trying to unglue my eyes at the moment.
I am great as always!!! Working on a few new designs and will be contacting someone about designing my websites for me as I seem not to have the hang of it yet and am too impatient to keep fussing with it right now. LOL
Yep, that’s the Refinish I know.
You can ping off the walls today. You had a good day of slackdom yesterday.
LOL I also have to get this house clean and clean out my car.
I did some world class slacking yesterday, so I’m in the same boat. House cleaning.
Yes but you do that everyday. LOL Well, except when the ceiling falls down. ROTFLMAO
Yes it’s difficult to have the perfect slack day.
Someone tell Ductape to stop calling al-Jazeera.
They could be twins.
We are all crusaders now…
I’m beginning to find a nasty side effect of naps. Energy! That shouldn’t be happening. I just got up and should be ready for another nap soon, but I feel like I’ve got to do something.
I wonder if I’m going through male menopause where instead of being able to buy a little sports car, I’m channeling it to cleaning ceiling dust and the house.
I’m going to have to rethink my whole nap thing now. Energy – work, phewey, phewey, phewey!
Got to go. See ya’ll in awhile.
That’s depressing, FM. The least you could do is find a sweet young thang to help you clean ceiling dust.
Suggest taking naps hanging upside down, like bats do. Not sure why, but intuition tells me this might solve the whole problem.
I’m glad to see you are all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning!
And it must time to
Yup, I’m just cramming the last of my stuff into the cargo van, and SHADOW HERE I COME!!!!!
Well, this is it, guys! I’m unplugged. See you in LA!
Morning!!!!
Hi everyone, I am awake now and will post a new diary in one second….
