I was up about an hour ago taking pictures of the geese in the morning mist, and then they spotted me so I had to be fleet of foot a bit earlier than I’d have liked. 🙂 How ’bout yourself, Family Man?
It’s a beautiful day, CG. Wish I was going to the Baltimore meetup. It sounds so fun! We might try to get to the beach for the weekend, but we have conflicting schedules.
I wish you were coming too- it was a lot of fun last year. Of course, the beach is always a nice idea too. I’m really looking forward to our trip to Ocracoke in August too.
Me too! It’ll be great to get in a little adventure with Colin before he leaves for college. And I want to see if CBtY’s eyebrows have grown back by then.
The best thing about relativity is that now we can be certain that we are all at the center of the universe.
So far Ohio is all right. The people are extraordinarily friendly, but I can’t shake this weird sense of being in a Stephen King novel where the friendliness is really just a facade to cover for the batshit insane fundamentalism lurking beneath the surface. I haven’t seen much of the city/town area yet, mostly just the local chain stores and our apartment complex, but we are planning to go to a park this weekend and maybe even a queer bar, so that should be fun.
Sounds a lot like the south™ – I guess southern Ohio is drastically different from the Cleveland area where it’s overwhelmingly democratic. Most people up there are lukewarm Catholics or mainline Protestant, but there are fundamentalist megachurchers making inroads up there too. Ick.
It’s weird, sociologically. I mean, I saw a queer guy [aggressively] driving an Audi the other day, his car plastered with rainbow stickers and pro-war stickers. Huh? Being some place where even the gays are kinda conservative is freaky.
I don’t understand that mentality. It one thing to be a single-issue voter, but quite another to belong to a party who fundamentally hates who you are. I mean, Log Cabin Republicans creep me out.
I get it — intellectually, at least. It’s an internalized hatred picked up from the larger culture. Homos aren’t immune to homophobia, and sometimes can be quite homophobic. I think it’s a similar social phenomenon to how conservative women sometimes seem to really hate women, as a group, but exclude themselves from the group with some kind of, “Oh, but I’m not like that, I’m different, I’m a better person,” rationale.
While I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that topless Hasselhoff is categorically a banning offense (I KID), pretty much the only thing that will get you banned around here is posting Hannity talking points and/or acting like an asshole in general. Welcome to the pond, Brownian Motion.
I, for one, vote to ban Brownian Motion for all time. I mean, c’mon – David Hasselhoff before breakfast? And how can his head possibly be larger than this waist? That’s just not right.
I can’t really tell yet because I’m only about halfway through my first enormous cup of coffee. But I managed to miss stepping barefoot into the pile of newly upchucked cat breakfast, so it looks like luck might be on my side today.
Just depends. It’s my youngest brothers lawnmower to begin with and the last time he was here, he forgot his gas can. So he took mine. He forgot to leave it here when he went home, and I refuse to go and buy another one.
He lives two hours away and I’ve been waiting for him to swing back through, but no lawn until I get gas.
Woe is me.
It sound as if your day is starting out lucky. I always miss Cat’s gastric deposits and step right on them. 🙂
That sounds like a perfect reason not to mow the lawn. Maybe you should just scatter a bucket of wildflower seeds all over your yard and call it a meadow.
Gee CabinGirl, you sound a little congested, and just a bit hoarse, like perchance you might have an 18-hour “flu” type thingy…I hear a sure cure for those is a relaxing day in the sunshine.
good morning. I just dragged my sorry ass (and toe) out of bed. Why haven’t I bought any coffee? I am getting addicted to the cappaccinos at the coffee shop when I should just make my own.
The toe is beet red and not appreciably better than yesterday. Maybe it is slightly less painful? I won’t know until I attempt to put it in a shoe and walk (to get coffee).
You’ll get a kick out of this. Within a 2 square mile radius of my house there are at least 3 Starbucks, 1 Caribou and 2 or 3 independent coffee shops.
You know I’ve never ever been to a coffee shop. They became popular after my traveling/big city days. I think if I had to drive to one, it wouldn’t hold that much allure for me. Whereas like Booman, if I were in a city and could walk to one, it might be different. Of course the walk couldn’t be too far.
I’m really glad they came around in time for my kids to hang out there instead of the mall or randome empty parking lots like my friends and I did as teenagers.
You’d probably like them, FM. They usually have comfy seats and fireplaces and free wi-fi. People hang out there all day gabbing or working on laptops. You can work on a hot cup of tea all day for pretty cheap. And it’s a great place to meet people.
Sounds pretty cool. Sounds like the gausthauses near my home when I lived in Germany. I never did drink anything caffeinated there, and the getting back home was alway more of an adventure than getting there, but still cozy.
That’s good about a place for the kids. In my time it was a gas station parking lot where we would all hang out. That is when I could get into town. 🙂
Titled, How many pounds will you gain while you wait for inspiration? And how much is too much? This is the opening sentence of The Commitment article at Eat4Today.com
Big breasted girls like me can carry a lot of extra weight without it being displeasing to the eye.
Good Morning folks! I am a newbie over here. I saw the Booman Trib being blasted on a rightwingers blog and figured it simply MUST be an excellent place then 🙂
I put up my first post and I will have to learn the sublities of html so that I can post links and the like.
I was directed to the cafe by one of your own who’s name I have forgotten..hey..its early in Cali :p
The water’s always the right temperature, the food is calorie free, the booze comes with no hangovers, there are hugs when you need them, and humor and snark whether you need it or not.
So BT hasn’t been up and running that long? I saw somewhere its only been four months..is that correct? You have a lot of activity for a site so young.
Well,I have to head out and get the dogs and cats some food. Everyone have a great day and expose the bastards for what they are: Unintelligent dipwads that deserve to be hung by their feet, tarred and feathered by the masses.
Hey there Sr. Eegee and all the rest of you fine froggy folk! I sure could use a nap, as I was up too late again last night (go figure) enjoying the thundershowers that came through late. We’re definitely transitioning from spring to that in between to summer, with a sunny blue sky here today, warmer temps and a bit of humidity thrown in for good measure.
Did you end up with memorable sunset last night Manny?
Sounds like that nap was probably just what you needed after your day yesterday. Hope today is a better one for you… well, time to get serious here, so hasta luego for now.
what the doctor ordered. Unfortunately the idiot who called in yesterday did it again today. This was supposed to be the person’s last day, I guess all those loose ends that were supposed to be taken care of will now get shifted to the rest of everyone else’s piles of work. sigh….alright, I’m tired of being a raincloud, I’ll see you all around later if I get some down-time.
Nice to see ya pop in… how’s things at your end of the world today? Hoping it’s warmer and drier at least, and that all that stuff has magically packed itself and is ready to go when you are. Well, nice dream thought anyway, huh? 🙂
Morning Andi!!!! Doing a quick hello as I leave to go get ready for work. I hope everyone has a great day!!!!
have an excellent day.
Excellent!
Morning Indy. How’re ya doing to day?
I was up about an hour ago taking pictures of the geese in the morning mist, and then they spotted me so I had to be fleet of foot a bit earlier than I’d have liked. 🙂 How ’bout yourself, Family Man?
Oh just waking up. I stayed up past my bedtime and slept late today.
Today for me it one of those make or break decisions. Slack or do some of the things I’ve been putting off.
I think I already know the answer, but just haven’t told myself yet. 🙂
I have complete confidence that you will make the
slacktastic decision.
Oh Indy, you know me to well. 😉
It’s still weird to have you here for coffee, Indy.
Weird, but cool. How are you this morning, SN?
It’s a beautiful day, CG. Wish I was going to the Baltimore meetup. It sounds so fun! We might try to get to the beach for the weekend, but we have conflicting schedules.

I was always here for coffee — just not your coffee. 😉
No, you see, I’m like a 3 year old and if things don’t exist in my time and space, they don’t exist.
How are you liking Ohio? I wish I liked my sister in Cincinnati more than I do – I’d make an effort to visit her.
Party on dudes.
aaahhh, the breakfast of champions…rich honduran coffee, fresh bagel, one fresh orange, one banana, and poof…….out the door ; )
it’s a Miami morn’n
later gator’s..
peace all
Too bad you couldn’t stay and share that breakfast. But I’m enjoying the aroma of coffee and fresh bagels.
Don’t forget your handgun, infidelpig. 🙂
as an old die hard Marine, my trusty .45 is always at my side ; )
Yippppeeeeeee Kiiiii Aaaaaaaayy
Can you help out an American, who’s down on his luck?
Hi Brownian Motion. In here in cafe we’re always here and ready to help.
Well almost always here and help as much as posible. 🙂
Welcome to the cafe.
Cool. I am a DKos exile.
I wish only to find a home in which to practice my schtick.
I am unsure of the boundries of acceptable behavior, though.
In the cafe we’re a pretty loose group. I pretty much stay in the cafe and do some comments every now and then at the diaries.
You’ll find it a nice place to be. It’s a small pond, but good people/froggies here.
I mean, I think it’s really funny… in an inappropriate kind of way. But maybe I’m wrong here.
Not trying to offend, but I do like a good laugh now and again.
What do you think?
Funny?
Inappropriate?
Banning offense?
I think it’s funny too. But gosh before breakfast. 🙂
Did you go through and check out last night cafe?
Negative ghostrider.
I would do that now, but I gotta crash.
It’s bedtime for me now.
Here’s a little something to get you through your day… for those of you who aren’t into the David.
Ahhh. All better.
See ya later.

Morning SN. How’s the day going so far?
I can’t really tell yet because I’m only about halfway through my first enormous cup of coffee. But I managed to miss stepping barefoot into the pile of newly upchucked cat breakfast, so it looks like luck might be on my side today.
Gonna get to that yardwork?
Just depends. It’s my youngest brothers lawnmower to begin with and the last time he was here, he forgot his gas can. So he took mine. He forgot to leave it here when he went home, and I refuse to go and buy another one.
He lives two hours away and I’ve been waiting for him to swing back through, but no lawn until I get gas.

I like WW’s idea of a goat or two. But that presents another problem.
What goes in has to come out somewhere. 🙂
You know, with that riding mower of yours my boys would be fighting over who got to cut the grass. Maybe if it had a beer holder Mr. Nature would too.
The riding lawnmower has never been that big of a problem. If I had to push, it wouldn’t get done.
Just do horse, stick, apple for Mr. Nature. Dangle a beer in front of the push lawnmower. I think that’s the only way I’d push a lawnmower. 😉
As you can see I’m just waking up and my sentences don’t even make sense to me.
Good morning Anid, RF, and IF.
And welcome again Brownian Motion.
There, starting to get a little coherent. 🙂
Hi Andi, Indy, IP, SN, FM, refi, and welcome Brownian Motion (somehow, the abbreviation for that just doesn’t work for me….)
A gorgeous sunny day here…too bad I have to work this morning. 🙁
I have to work, too. There’s bon bons to be eaten. Enjoy the day. 🙂
Morning CG. You have to work? You know the drill. Slack when possible. 🙂
Morning Booman. How’s the toe today?
Morning.
The toe is beet red and not appreciably better than yesterday. Maybe it is slightly less painful? I won’t know until I attempt to put it in a shoe and walk (to get coffee).
Poor Booman. Hope the walk isn’t far.
are you watching this fire in the Istanbul airport?
Sure am. Wonder how it started? Pretty damn big fire.
Ya know, I’m no doctor, but you could have broken a tiny bone in your foot, in which case they’d cast you.
Pffft! Why drink hot, fresh coffee for pennies a cup when you can spend $3.95 a day?
3.95 for a cup of coffee? Who in thier right mind..
Opps. Sorry Booman. 🙂
I’m guessing there are no coffee shops near you, right?
LOL I almost lost it. Coffee shop? What the heck are those?
We’re lucky to have the one over priced grocery store here. 🙁
So, the toe is not improved?
Columbine, taken 2006-05-23
It’s sunny this morning! Not a cloud in the sky … 🙂
And I sincerely apologize for creeping everyone out last night … 🙂
Morning Olivia. Who got creeped out?
I just woke up screaming in the black night, seeing salad fingers and rusty spoons. Just another normal night. 😛
Are you returning your router today?
I’ve got to start the calling process again. I did a dairy of what’ going on and what I’m doing and I’ll put up over at my place.
Are your eyes open this morning, eh?
I’ll look forward to reading your post. 🙂
Good you are learning. Just remember to wake up every now and then to put in eye drops. 😉
That’s a lovely one, Miss O. So glad you’re seeing some blessed sun today.
I hope that you are as well … 🙂

Do you think I went too far?
KB I don’t think you could ever go too far, and it’s a perfect article.
Oh, thanks. By the time I got to work I was worried that it was just too, too. Something.
Sometimes commuting leads to inspiration sometimes it’s just a time to worry.
I know what you mean. I go through that with just one sentence comments. 🙂
No, it was right on. It’s amazing how giving yourself permission to put on a few pounds turns into a few dozen pounds…one by one.
I’m glad that came through. You don’t want to be overly hard on yourself — but the consequences of letting weight drift are so devastating.
(and thanks for the email — it gave me a lot to consider)
was hoping not to upset you, but you already knew I was weird. 🙂
No — you didn’t upset me at all. I’m probably going to wait until I get home to reply, though. Just because.

Hi, dusterella!! It’s good to meet you.
Welcome to BT, dusterella!
BTW, the cafe is a great place to come and ask any questions you might have about html and posting links and pictures.
Hello dusterella. Welcome to the pond.
The water’s always the right temperature, the food is calorie free, the booze comes with no hangovers, there are hugs when you need them, and humor and snark whether you need it or not.

Hit & run. Had to get George out and cats fed, Mom settled and now I have to do some work. Nasty word that.
Everybody have a good day in the pond.
well, that was a great nap. What did I miss?
Hey there Sr. Eegee and all the rest of you fine froggy folk! I sure could use a nap, as I was up too late again last night (go figure) enjoying the thundershowers that came through late. We’re definitely transitioning from spring to that in between to summer, with a sunny blue sky here today, warmer temps and a bit of humidity thrown in for good measure.

I slept through it…my nap ended up extending until the morning when my alarm buzzed for work.
Sounds like that nap was probably just what you needed after your day yesterday. Hope today is a better one for you… well, time to get serious here, so hasta luego for now.

Hope you can take it a little easier today, Man E.
Glad you rested well.
Hey there, IVG — & anyone else who may be lurking about.
A gracious belated welcome to our newcomers (except you, Hasselhoff, ya twinkie).
Nice to see ya pop in… how’s things at your end of the world today? Hoping it’s warmer and drier at least, and that all that stuff has magically packed itself and is ready to go when you are. Well, nice dream thought anyway, huh? 🙂
Have a great day, as best you can…
Hey everyone — good morning! I’m awake now. I’m putting a new cafe up now. It’ll just be a minute.
The Froggy Bottom Waffle House is now open!
